We had to make this a short visit but it was great fun. Some really neat photos, artifacts and stories from the area. Lots of interesting history of the city. The building itself was originally an old hotel. Glad to see locals saw the importance of preserving it. There are monthly live music events on the patio during the summer. An all together good stop. Will stop again.

I don't usually stop at local history places, but I am glad I stopped here. Like thousands of communities, the downtown has been devastated by business moving out by the Interstate. The Annie Riggs Museum keeps alive the old time activities of daily living and the bitter realities of frontier life. The Old Fort Cemetery is the final resting place of people whose names are unknown and whose locations are approximately marked by uninscribed sheet metal markers. Despite the indomitable spirit of Annie Riggs (and Lord knows what untold stories), I drove out of Ft Stockton in an existential angst which haunts me a month later.

For a low admission fee you get a lot of information and historic artifacts to look at. Plenty of details about objects you are unsure of. You also get to watch a video explaining the history. staff is very friendly and informative. across the street, you have the Fort Stockton court house and other historic buildings in the same location, which is pretty cool to see while leaving.

After a quick tour of Ft. Stockton, we were very interested in this hotel run by Annie Riggs around 1900. There is a wrap around porch and a center courtyard with the hotel rooms off of that. Some of the rooms were little museums themselves. Definitely worth seeing.

Well worth the visit. This old hotel was packed full of local antiques, three floors worth. A must see!

On a corner wrapped with wood decked porch is this charming collection of memorabilia. Well worth the visit. Friendly people, lots of rooms beautifully displaying much history, & open courtyard lined with seating to enjoy the leisurely atmosphere of this fun stop in Fort Stockton.

We watched the video which was very informative. We toured the house after the video. There were some old furniture and artifacts in the house and in the rooms off the wrap around porch. We enjoyed looking through the different rooms on the outside. If you are in Fort Stockton put this at the top of your list of things top see

If you go to the museum, take the time to sit and watch the video. Its quite facinating if you're in to old west history. Many interesting items, ifrom what was originally a hotel, including dinosaur bones from the area. No fee but they do ask for donations The elderly lady at the desk was very sweet and friendly.

A old hotel now a very nice museum. On entrance the docent gave us a very good detail history on the hotel and Annie Riggs which added to our walk through. Each room was full of items for the period. The building is the original structure so you get to see the actual layout and construction. When in Fort Stockon take the time to visit.

Was waiting for Mi Casita restaurant to open and looked at TA to see what I could do in 1 hr in Fort Stockton. Tried the Annie Riggs Museum in Fort Stockton. Turns out it originally was a hotel built in 1801 now run by local historical society. They just asked for small donation, no set amount. There are articles from that period. You get to see I think 13 rooms filled with items and short video. Also there was a famous archeological dig nearby. My items donated on display. Highly recommend if you have 1 hr free. Adults and kids would find very interesting. Who would have thought it would be here.

Interesting museum about the history of Fort Stockton. Only takes about an hour to go through, and we found it worth the time.

This was a neat visit of a Victorian Hotel/Boarding House. We watched a video and took a self-guided tour of a few of the rooms. A nice bit of history. It was interesting that Ms. Riggs divorced her husbands successfully...simply did not happen often in those days. I believe admission was on a donation basis.

Quick stop in the middle of a long road. Needed to get out and stretch after several hours on I-10 Always like little museums. Was not disapointed. Nice lady at the door with answers to questions and very willing to help in any way. Much enjoyed our 45 minute stop.

This museum is about like all museums. It hold a peek into the life of this area in the 1800's. It is different information because of being different area than I have been. Visiting museums gives us an idea of what each area was about or like during the infant stage of it's life

This is a marvelous piece of Americana. A small doable museum to spend a delightful hour as you cross Texas and stop to admire Paisano Pete the gigantic roadrunner in town. Annie Riggs depicts life on the western frontier circa 1900-1920. I always found charming and have stopped on each of my I-10 trips.
