Nice little hike, very natural and very close to town, which is very nice to get that woodsy feelling without going very far. Do know they offer many activities for our youth.

This is a nice trail if you are just starting out to try and get in shape or if you are learning to hike. If you walk both trails (not the paved handicap trail) you will walk just under three miles. There are a couple of sharp inclines but they aren't too bad. We enjoyed a short rest that overlooked Joe Pool Lake. Forget your walking stick? No problem. The store has some that you can borrow. Just be sure to return it for the next hiker.Bird lover? They have activities throughout the year for bird lovers and nature lovers. The park is free. Be sure to leave a donation if you can, or become a member. There are discounts for students and teachers. This area is well kept. We plan on joining. I'm also going to suggest additional trails.

Let's take a walk in the woods, pausing now and then to watch a bird or a squirrel. Inside these trails the city seems very far away. Street sounds are muffled by the trees and the scent is pure woods. Just what I need sometimes.

Well maintained, shady trail made for a nice hike. Went in the early afternoon and saw only one squirrel and a dozen birds. Still an enjoyable couple of hours.

Nice trails with great views, especially in the spring and fall. Only drawback is the limited hours they are open. The 9:00 a.m. start time in the summer means you'll be hiking in Texas heat. Wish they could find a way to move that up to 7:00 a.m. from June - August.

This is a very nice place to hike in the area. The trail is very short, though. Only a little over a mile. I hope there a future plans for longer trails.

I went here one time and was very disappointed. Just before you get to the main building you see a huge mass of concrete. We were asking ourselves, what on earth is that? Apparently someone with little design or construction experience decided to "highlight nature" using 300 cubic yards of concrete. Imagine a 200 person concrete outdoor amphitheater, except there is no place to sit. It's not an amphitheater. I don't know what they were thinking. At the "stage" are three or four trees. I'm not kidding. There is a nice dark brown building. There were two pleasant employees. We saw a few nice displays. Upstairs we saw a few birds at birdfeeders. To walk the trails you pay about $5 per person. If you want to support the Audubon society, I'd recommend sending them a check. Then walk in the woods for free.
