Its what makes me not want to leave this place. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Can be lively during the summer but mostly serene and incredible views.
At first we thought we were in the wrong place but when we saw Marnick's we realised we weren't. Cannot see what is special about it - there must be more scenic places to go than this. The water looked decidedly murky and there was rubbish all over the place.
My sweetheart and I love to drive down to the Lordship seawall and park our truck there and walk its length. The shoreline is a mix of sandy beach and rocky area. There is plenty of free parking. If you are hungry, there is Marnick's Restuarant there (check out my previous Trip Advisor review of Marnick's). Bring a snack and sit on the seawall and watch the activity on the Sound.
We happened upon the sea wall while on vacation and ended up visiting each night. It was lovely during sunset hours and a nice place to walk.
I used to visit Marnicks every Friday morning for Breakfast with my now departed BF Ruth ,then we would sit in my car and take pictures over the seawall ,before slowly driving back along the shoreline and home Good memories GOOD pictures good food
There are often fishermen and other nice folks who come to the sea wall to enjoy a quiet view of the water.
Went here at dusk and saw a beautiful sunset from Lordship Seawall. Lots of parking, too! Great romantic spot for couples!
Very pretty and smooth walking along the lovely seawall. It was evening and getting dark. Took photos of the blinking lighthouse to the far left side of the view. Loved this place, and the off season quiet views. Great for little kids to walk along the seawall too. Smooth surface to prevent tripping.
Nice place to get out and walk on the beach for a little while with kids. Very rocky so you can't go barefoot very long. Not too much debris or trash but a little. Good place to collect rocks and shells. Close to Marnick's which is a nice place for lunch or a few drinks. Hardly anyone there on a Sunday afternoon.
You can sit in your car or take a walk along the seawall. On clear days you can see and it appears you can almost touch Long island.
I went after sundown just to see the water after dinner didn't have to pay anything for the beach access I think normally it's $15 for none residents but it was really nice I saw a few cars pull up after me and I think they were there for some night fishing, but something about looking out towards the water and then you look to your right and just industrial harbors, but it definitely is quite the vision.
My husband and I usually take the motorcycle here, park and take a walk. Then we go to Marnicks on the Patio and have a few drinks and maybe a bite to eat. Marnicks has great ice cream. We love it here, nice and peaceful.
A great place for a walk. Not much surf, but very pleasant, especially on a hot day. And a REAL TREAT is Marnick's Restaurant right there--great breakfast, lunch or dinner. Patio open in the summer
Nice hang out. Right on the water. Plenty of free parking.Too busy. Bikers like to roar through in bunches
The seawall is a good place to stop and stretch your legs or grab a bite to eat. Many visitor's cast their lines into Long Island Sound and try their luck at catching some fish. There's a little sandy beach next to Marnick's where you can walk to the water or skip rocks or whatever, but other than that, the boulders on the seawall are a barrier between the road & the sound.
