You can do lots of stuff here, ranging from renting a boat (on Twin Lakes), to eating breakfast or lunch at their snack bar, to replenishing your marine or fishing supplies, to buying or selling a boat or having yours repaired (they specialize in Mercury engines and will tell you flat out if they don't feel well qualified to fix whatever you have on your boat). I've been a customer of theirs since 1974 and thus my opinion is the result of decades of experience with them (including all the activities listed above except renting -- never rented a boat there, but I expect that other reviewers will talk about that experience). The management is super nice, and not just because I've known them for a long time; that's just the way they are naturally! Breakfast, especially Sunday breakfast, on the deck overlooking the lake, with boats being launched and fishermen coming in and leaving, and families all over the place, while certainly not a "white tablecloth" experience, is a whole lot of fun. The Twin Lakes, of course, are superb (I'm a year-round resident), and "the marina" (they're the only one on Twin Lakes) is a real Twin Lakes institution.

Like the title says I've been here numerous times with different people and have had a great time each time. I've rented both the 16 and 14 footers. Aside from obvious size and people capacity differences the 14 footer is slower and does not have a steering wheel, instead there's a hand grip lever to turn the motor of the boat in the back which in turn will change the heading of the boat accordingly. The only real negative is that I have had one of these 14 footers jam up on me forcing the boat into a constant turn but my friend and I managed to keep it straight enough to zig zag our way back where they exchanged it for a different one, no questions asked. Since then I've stuck to the 16'. Both sizes are GREAT for the price you pay, especially if you bring friends to split it with. I'd definitely splurge the extra money for the luxury of the steering wheel on the 16'. As mentioned the price includes gas of which you'll end up using a moderate amount of exploring the very large lakes. Yes, I said plural- lakes! If you can find your way to it, which is a little adventure in and of itself, there is a second lake. There's so much to see and discover on the lake, aside from swimming, fishing, and simply relaxing. It's worth the trip!

My husband and I rented a 16 foot boat with a motor and steering wheel for the day. It was $90 after tax for the boat with gas included. The boat is not at all anything fancy but gets you on the lake for fishing, swimming or reading a good book. The man in the boat house was super friendly. We brought our own lunches and drinks to have in the boat although there was a restaurant there you could eat at. Twin Lakes was larger than we expected and absolutely gorgeous. It was fun to ride around and see all of the houses on the lake too. Some were moderate sized with a lot of New England charm. Others were outrageously large with perfectly manicured lawns. It was an extremely peaceful and relaxing day for us both and we plan to go back later this summer.
