Do call ahead. The owner may be at a wedding. If you just show up and ring the bell, you may very well not be in luck. During a loving restoration many of the home's original pieces were returned to the walls; they belonged no where else, truly.Stunning collection of French oils. Owner guided; depth.

Owner Bill Longfellow gives tours of this very historic house, former home to members of the Vick family for whom Vicksburg is named. The house is chock-a-block full of spectacular antiques, and the tours are fascinating for anyone with so much as a passing interest in the history of the area and of early times in Vicksburg. The Martha Vick House is available to rent for events and is best known for the legendary galas held under its roof, everything from significant birthday and anniversary parties, to community Seders, to New Year's Eve and Christmas celebrations -- and parties just for the heck of it. As a frequent visitor to Vicksburg and a close friend of several locals, I have had the privilege of attending quite a few gatherings there: The food and drink are always of the highest order, served on the finest china, crystal, and silver ware. The elegant house lends itself to good cheer and happy times.

We saw this house listed in the Vicksburg visitor information booklet and called the owner about a tour. The tour is $10 per person and lasts about 45 minutes. We enjoyed the owner's stories about the house and furnishings and Vicksburg history. Take the opportunity to tour this house if you are visiting Vicksburg. The owner is an older gentleman and who knows how much longer he will conduct tours.
