There was a fire here in the fall. Certain areas are not open to the public because of this. Be sure to call and check on the restoration progress.

Visit the Ag Museum a couple of times while we lived in the Jackson area...a nice spot for a small wedding. Did not get to really check out the Museum and the model trains until attending a child's birthday party with family. The Ag Museum was the perfect place for a birthday party with the animals and train ride around the area. After the party we walked through the model trains and history of Agriculture in the State. A nice place for kids. Not the best for little kids as are two year old decided to run around the entire time. She did love the animals though.

A well organised venue with free parking. It was well worth the $6 entry fee. There was a 19th century street moved from Mississippi to Jackson with a school, church, general store and many more buildings. A cotton gin was in action as well as a sawmill and a water pump. Sugar cane was being processed. A huge model railway display. This is a must to see in Jackson and we spent over 2 hours visiting.

See the real "old town Mississippi" that has been dismantled from it's original location and reassembled here- from the general store to the old church where weddings are still held. Then go to the nation's only agricultural aviation museum. It's well worth it if you take the time.

Admission fee to this museum is only $5 and it is worth more. The main building, which is huge, has quite a few exhibits. Inside are vintage aircraft, automobiles, and farm equipment. There is a cotton gin and cotton picker as well as chain saws and other tools. There are two electric train exhibits with volunteers available to run the trains. Around the grounds are still more vintage cars and farm equipment. There are many buildings included in the museum. One is a gas station dating back to the pre WWII days as well as a church, general store, and doctor's office. There's even a drilling rig and sawmill. The building housing The Fitzgerald Collection has many items inside. Included are thousands or arrowheads as well as firearms and pharmacy equipment. This museum has something for everybody and one can easily spend several hours here like we did.

This is a very well organized and well appointed museum really worth visiting. The main building alone would be worth the entrance fee. It contains displays about the dairy industry, the history of cotton, collection of old tractors and tools, agricultural and aviation artifacts, several beautiful quilts, and displays of electric trains that will bring back the child in you. The Fitzgerald Collection building has several different wonderful collections to include thousands of arrow heads & grinding stones. Wonderful way to spend a few hours.

What a fun, educational experience! We all had fun and learned about the old faming days as well. And..... it is located in a safe part of Jackson!!!

The Jackson Rhythm and Blues Festival was held here, and I absolutely enjoyed it. No words can describe the friendliness of the people in Jackson, MS and the great food we ate while attending the event. Will be back next year

Not to mention the various phenomenal photo opportunities to be had here. I grew up visiting the Ag Museum, and it just keeps getting better over the years. My children adore the vast model train exhibit inside, while my husband can't get enough of the crop dusters. And I like strolling the grounds and rose garden, visiting the General Store, and climbing through the cotton gin. There's something for everybody here.

The last time I had previously visited this park was in elementary school... We decided to take our kids to the museum and they absolutely loved it! There was plenty of space outside for them to run around and explore all of the amazing building from the past...They learned about how things were done before modern luxuries. They were amazed at the buildings and at the machines inside the museum buildings. They loved the nature trail they were looking for the forestry signs so that they could call out the types of trees. Being 10 and 8 I thought these boys would be bored with this place but they had an amazing time...We ended the trip to this place with a glass bottle coke and a trip to the gift shop!

We have visited the museum twice. It is an excellent place to go to visit the indoor and outdoor attractions. There is a lot to see and do. However, do pay attention to the warning signs in the parking lot about locking your car and securing your valuables. The first time we visited, when we came out to the parking lot we noticed some police cars, and were told someones car was broken into. The next time we visited our truck was broken into. Apparently, from speaking with the Jackson Police Department this attraction is prime picking for car thieves, hence the warning signs in the parking lot. You would think the State of Mississippi would put in a security guard or security cameras. Too late for us, but if you go, be careful where you park and what you leave in your vehicle.

We visited this museum on June 16th. There is a free parking lot shared with the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum (Cool Papa Bell Drive). The museum is informative. We learned how they harvest Catfish. Not all the buildings were open when we visited.

The price is right! $5 for an adult. They have lots of really old farm and forestry artifacts. If you like big old machinery you can get close to and really see their workings, this is the place to visit. Be sure to visit the Fitzgerald building in the far back behind the main building. It has AC (bonus!) and a lot of smaller old farm house and Indian artifacts like spear heads. I had to enter from Sports Hall of Fame side because the main gates were not open.

I enjoyed everything about this place. The old town was the best part for me. Brought back a lot of old memories. Thanks for having a place like this. My Wife and children all loved it too.

I've been making an annual pilgrammage here for almost 25 years. I've always enjoyed it every time. Also great way to show my children things I've done in the past.Good things: Great educational value for all ages. Cool model railway set in the middle of museum big hit with my girls. Small town USA outdoor exhibit was excellent (I've been to several others, but lots will only let you look in windows. You can actually go inside most of the buildings.) Animal barn big hit also (even if a stray cat that wandered by stole the show for every child nearby,) General store in center for drinks, snacks and soveniers. Bad: Not much except lighting inside was a little dim and line in store can long depending on crowds (mostly during special events.) Cajun spice smell from nearby crawfish restaurant may put off some people (it made me hungry.)Special events around certain holidays like easter egg hunts and pumpkin picking
