My name is Todd bishop, owner of playtime. I am floored by the poor reviews. We don't charge $8 per kid like other business' , and adults are free because that price model is too expensive for our guests. Yes we charge $2 for everyone even adults( who can also play in our structures). We do this so a mom of 3 can play all day for $8. Yes we charge for tokens, bouncing, and food. It is cheaper for you, our customer to purchase only what you want and not force you to pay for attractions/services you don't want to use. Many guests want to just play on playgrounds for $2. We do take into account that you payed $2 to get in. Our 2 hour bounce sessions are only $4. Competitors are $5-$7 for the same 2 hours and you have to leave when it's over. When you buy a meal deal (pizza, drinks, and tokens) we give you free admission for the next visit. If you buy $20 in tokens (80 tokens) we give you $5 free (100 tokens total) to absorb the door charge. We were forced to put a sign on the salad bar, because many felt it was complimentary. We are a business. I still have a full time job, my wife works 7 days a week and I help on the weekends. I take every review personally because playtime is our life's work. I challenge anyone to go anywhere w 3 kids and play all day for $8. We can't please everyone, but we sure try. We service 50,000 guests, and over 400 birthday parties a year. Not many people take the time today to write positive reviews anymore and business are foced to live with the negative impact of the (20 or so people that do .0004%) that feel empowered to tell us how to run our business. We are still open after almost 8 years. Monkey joes in ofallon closed, incredible pizza and hammers arcade in cave springs closed, just to name a few. It must be because the reviews are accurate about us overcharging for everything, being dirty, rude, and expensive. Please try us out for yourself. We are moms and dads, just like you. We have made mistakes and probably still will make a few. We consistently listen to our guests. What do you have to loose, $2 ? You will not be disappointed.
What place charges a $2.00 per person entrance fee just to walk in the door and have the privilege of ordering their lousy food and BUY tickets for their broken down and germ infested rides? No one but Partytime. This place is a total joke and their staff is not pleasant! In fact they are downright crabby! Planning a birthday party, better check it out first! The so called party rooms are so tiny forget more than just a couple of kids. Parents have to stand outside the room because there is no room inside for everyone. And then you get rude glares by the staff because you are in their hallway. Please oh please if you go there, bring along some hand sanitizer and wipes and clean each ride or game your kids play on and the tables if you eat anything as you never see the staff cleaning the tables. I honestly cannot believe the health department hasn't shut this place down. And even though the food is positively disgusting and overpriced, you cannot bring anything in.And don't waste your money on the skeeball. It consistently breaks down and doesn't spit out the tickets. Then the staff won't help when you report it.Just an awful place and I am actually shocked that the City of Wentzville is not doing something about this so called admission fee. Fee for what? It is nothing but highway robbery.
The only reason we come back is because my kid enjoys the indoor playground, and it's too cold outside. The owner is RUDE at every visit. She doesn't smile, or say thank you. They nickle and dime you for EVERYTHING, even a tiny cup of ice water. They even reuse their gift cards. I think they buy their prizes simply for looks because most any decent prize is over 500 tickets, and that would take for ever to collect. Their food is gross, and overpriced. it's clean, but you'll get more bang for your buck at Chuck E cheese....
Our kids were excited to visit Playtime Party Center, but we were very disappointed. It was like they were trying to be a Chuck-E-Cheese type of place, but way less welcoming. I felt like they were nickel and diming every last thing. They charge admission, they charge for games, they charge for inflatables, they charge for lockers, they even charged for a tiny cup of ice water - basically if they can tack a fee on to something they do! The girl at the counter said the word "awesome" about 20 times in a total of five minutes. She tried to tell us our coupon was expired, but it wasn't. She tried get us to buy socks, but we had some. All tokens are $0.25, but most games cost more then one token. There are rude signs posted over the salad bar about it not being complimentary and not sharing - duh! The items on the salad bar looked so old and yucky. Didn't see one person eating a salad. Another sign said only certain soda cups can be refilled and others cannot. Ridiculous! The pizza was under-cooked and tasted like a Chef Boyardee box mix. The kids played their games. There was one ticket counting machine for the whole place, and it was not even working properly. When redeeming our tickets for the usual junk, the girl was so stingy about every last ticket. She wouldn't dare round up two tickets to give a four-year-old girl a plastic bracelet. It was crazy how many silly rules they had that made you feel like you had no common sense or human decency. I guess I am used to Chuck-E-Cheese, where everything is one token, the staff are friendly and welcoming, there are not rude signs posted, and they aren't so stingy with everything. I would not go back to Playtime Party Center ever again.
