Don't miss this if you have an ounce of nostalgia in you- it is huge and amazing!Rows and rows of your past- sorry, it is one quilt short and I am loving it.
We have been here twice. There are quite a few booths but several of them were very unorganized to the point that you couldn't even step in them. Some of them were just the typical flea market products. You can find a few bargains but bring a flashlight and be prepared to dig.
This is a great little stop if you are in the area. The antique mall is great and so is the smaller shop next door.
Having moved to the area in the last year, I have devoured myself through the local antique shops in search of something to match the level of the area that I am from. Jesse James is known as the best in the area, and if this is the best, then this is a sad area indeed. The Jesse James antique mall is attached to the Rusty-Chandelier, an antique/craft shop. The most bothersome element of this place is the large amount of antiques that are outside in the elements. There is some stuff that take the weather pretty well, but there are many items that wither away in the elements. If the area had reduced prices this would be understandable, but the stuff is high priced and decaying rapidly. The Jesse James is massive, but not overwhelming. there is a small segment dedicated to glass displays and the rest is the traditional style booths of varying sizes. The staff is very attentive and will gladly come around take items off of your hands to keep you shopping. The booths have a large variety of items that seem to have a decent amount of turnover thanks to the traffic. If you are here for antiques there are quite a few to find, but there is also a high amount of stuff that would be hard to classify as antiques or even vintage. You are less likely to find an extreme deal than you would at other places in the area, but there are still some nice options to be found. Be sure to look around before you purchase any major item as there is a good chance that someone else in the store will have a better price.Personally the Hunterland mall in the area is probably better for deals and the St. Joseph Antique and Auction store is very similar in quality to this. These are the best safe antique stores in the area where you won't have to get dirty to find things. My advice would be to travel and hit a brass armadillo or an Artichoke Annie's. For better items at cheaper prices, look through the small towns and find the places off the beaten path.
