What a great beach. Even in the winter with the ice and snow piled up, it's an interesting contrast with the summer, when it's smooth and perfectly maintained.

This is a great beach and they keep it in pristine condition. Lots to do like mini-golf, a playground, swimming, sunbathing, beach volleyball etc. They have concession stands with food, drinks and ice cream. Just added a walkway for wheelchairs that goes to the water. This is the place to see the sunsets. On July 4th, they shoot the fireworks off over the beach and it's really amazing to see. It's all free and you'll be able to easily work on your tan here. There are a number of events held here too like runs and the Gus Macker basketball event in June. Good parking and even a few spots for campers. Sterns is a good place to watch the boats too.

Here you can take a walk out onto the water to see a lighthouse or stay on the shore to watch a historic ferry boat either begin or end it's journey across Lake Michigan. Watch a beautiful sunset!

As beaches go and location to the town activities, it is hard to get any better than this one. Sure, in July it is crowded, but the best kept secret of the Great Lakes is September. The water is usually nice, but it can change on a dime. The beach parking is only a problem in peak season big weekends, most of the time you can find a spot. If you are staying nearby, you can walk. No dogs allowed on most of the beaches in the area, and as a former dog owner, I understand. You can take spot to Buttersville County park just south of Ludington or Nordhouse Dunes Recreation area just north, including the Lake Michigan Recreation area (county park) for Fido to go swim. This beach and the 7 miles of more beach to the Ludington State Park, are for people. There is no other beach anywhere, that is like this one!

Nice beach, nothing special. Not allowed to bring dogs (can't figure that one out). Very overcrowded, nowhere to park. Pretty lighthouse. Everything is too far to walk from here so you will definitely need to move your car.

One of the nicest beaches on Lake Michigan. Visited in October, so beach season was over, but still a nice place for a stroll along the water's edge. The windbreak fences were all up for the winter. This place probably buzzes in the summer!

Stearns Park is simply the city beach. And even when it's too cold to go swimming, which is the majority of the year, it's still worth the visit. Watching the badger, enjoying the sun set into the lake, or burying your feet in the sand. sigh. A much beloved location for locals and tourists alike.

It was a very cold and windy night. We sat in our car and watched the waves by the lighthouse and the Badger docking.

What a beautiful stop. We have visiting as many as we can. And it appears that my husband is a big fan of this spot

This (free) 2500-foot-long city-owned beach is quite wide, with plenty of room for beach blankets, chairs and umbrellas. This is also the location of the half-mile-long concrete pier that ends at the (much photographed) North Breakwater Light. There's plenty of free parking (but get there early in the summer), public restrooms with running water, seasonal concession stands, a Skate Park for the kids, a grassy treed area with picnic tables and grills, and park benches along the edge of the beach. One of the top attractions in Ludington, Stearns Park should be on your "must see" list when you visit the area.

We took some extra time while driving through the area to stop here and stroll on the beach and see the lighthouse. it was a beautiful day to see this beautiful park. The city can be proud that they have such a nice park for people to visit. Don't miss this if you visit here.

We like this beach because it is so easily accessible. It is very well maintained. There is a play ground for the kids and a skate park. It definately gives Ludington that beach town feeling.

We weren't going to stop here, but decided to anyway. What a treat! The walk out the lighthouse is a smooth easy stroll. It's very, very clean. The beach areas around it are very nice also. You can also climb the lighthouse, but we did not do that. The light is very small, but as you get closer to it, it's very unique. There are also several benches and tables for picnics. One of the cleanest parks I've seen. This is an easy park to drive on by...please don't, stop and check it out.

Clean, well patrolled beach.Ample parking but can get full in peak times.Picnic area could use more and newer tables. No dogs allowed, not even on a leash.

This place is beautiful, serene and peaceful. The views are spectacular. The sand is soft. The water is clear and inviting (but cold! ;)) My favorite part - 'busy' was 20-40 people on a Saturday in August (not hundreds!)
