brockway mountain drive

We've stood atop this lookout many, many times in all three seasons when it is accessible and never once has it been anything but wonderful and breathtaking. It's 360 degrees of stunning with Lake Medora in one direction, Lake Superior in another, Lake Fannie Hoe in still another and woods and wilderness as far as the eye can see. Catch the raptors migrating in early Spring and you'll see hundreds of raptors soaring below and above. The overlook, just completed a year or so ago, is an restful place to sit and look out over Copper Harbor as you head down the Copper Harbor side of the Drive. Take a snack or pack lunch, bring a camera, and plan to tarry awhile...it will be time well spent.

I loved the peace I felt from nature. Away from the 8-4, away from the city... The drive was fun and the winding roads were exciting!

Worth the drive. Great picture taking -lakes- mountain-Copper Harbor-Lake Superior and more. Narrow road lots- of pullover spots.

A good place to see Fall colors, watch the stars, or make phone calls! Some of the bike and hike trails lead up there, too.

The Gift Shop at the top of Brockway Mountain is no longer there. It was removed. I hope they replace it. I was up there Nov 4, 2014 and it looks bare up there without it. I heard that Eagle Harbor Township bought the property from a private owner so they could preserve the top of the mountain. That's what I was told. I found that the best and shortest way up the mountain is from the downtown Copper Harbor way and the road is in better shape. I can't wait to go back up in the spring 2015.

What some spectacular views from the top. The views where awe inspiring. The waves on lake Superior where quite impressive.

We read that this is one of the best places to see fall colors. I think we missed the really great colors but there was still colors to enjoy. The road is bumpy but it is worth the drive.

Great views, especially in the fall, but the road needs some work. It was very rough in places. This is a short drive between Eagle River and Copper Harbor and worth the time.

Only place to get cell service (at least for me) was at the top of the drive. Great views of Copper Harbor!

The view with the autumn colors spread out like a quilt. Stopped in several places to take pictures of the vista.

We always visit Brockway Mt when we are near. It is just a plain hill with a nice long drive up to it. On a nice warm sunny day it is beautiful but no protection form the wind and cold when that is the weather. Go and see for yourself.

I got really lucky in that it was a beautiful sunny warm day and the leaves were close to peak color already. What a spectacular view! Well worth the drive.

OK, bad news first, the road up to the top is absolutely horrible! I hope you have good suspension. OK now the good stuff - the views! I went up with my boyfriend who had been there before and I kept wanting to stop at every turn off but he told me to have some patience and I’m sure glad I did! The view at the top is amazing. We went at peak fall colors and were not disappointed. An absolute must when in the UP.

We made this drive from Copper Harbor, south. While the road is rough and twisting, the scenary is fantastic. Our drive took about 45 mins. for the 10-12 mile trip, with stops at the Copper Harbor overlook and the veiwing area at the highest point
