plum lake golf club

This is a delightful 9 hole public course founded in 1912. You can have a round of golf in 2 hours and then have time left for boating, fishing, shopping, or what ever else you would like to do. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It has a nice pro shop for supplies, including soda, water, and snacks, but no real food. The clubhouse is a 100 year old cabin on the south shore of Plum Lake. Attached to the course is a full size driving range where you can actually use your driver. The holes include a par 3 with the green in the bottom of a large pit, a couple of long par 4s, a par 5, a dog leg, and a blind hole for #9. The fairways are reasonably wide if you don't shoot perfectly straight, and most of them have rolling hills and varied terrain for interest. Many of the green have sand bunkers near them. The only water is the irrigation pond near #7, but you have to go very far to the left for that to be an issue. There are lots of trees between the fairways, and it is common for deer to cross them if you are playing late in the afternoon. You can walk or rent golf carts.
