It was very cold and snowing outside and the museum was a great place to stay warm. The displays were very informational and the gift shop was wonderful.

Many different areas and displays that will please and educate both children and adults. Located in Old Town restaurants and entertainment closeby.

I was really surprised at how nice this museum is. After visiting the Wichita Aviation Museum I was disappointed due to Wichita being the air Capitol of the world. So I went in the Museum of World Treasures feeling that it would only be par, but I was wrong. It is worth a visit

It had some good points and some not so good. I just wasn't very impressive. The meeting room wasn't very big. The organization of the exhibition flow didn't work.

This place is cool. Unfortunately we didn't have very long to spend here. They really do have all kinds of interesting things to see. I'd say the name really fits because they stuff from all over the world and all different time periods, from dinosaur bones to swords from the crusades to Alexander Hamiltons coat. And we never made it to the 3rd floor! We are already talking about making another trip to Wichita to see more of it.

I was in town for a week and had a day off and decided to give this attraction a try. It is three floors filled with all different kinds of items. I think that's what I enjoyed the most about this muesuem was how different the exhibits were. I was able to get through everything in about an hour and a half and I wasn't reading everything. The staff at the front was very helpful and friendly.

This was a great place. We had time off and wanted to do something. This was perfect. Not the average afternoon sightsee.

Who knew one building could contain so many antiquities and artifacts from mummies right up through Civil War memorabilia. It is not expensive and has three floors worth of wonderful things to see! I highly recommend it. Did you know there used to be an ocean in the middle of the United States and you can find fossils of large fish here in Kansas? Take a couple of hours or a full day you'll truly enjoy this museum

Great for adults and kids alike. A bit pricey but lots of fascinating stuff to browse. Nartural history, ancient world artifacts and US war exhibits from revolutionary through Viet Nam are impressive.

Visited here on a whim and was surprised. Family was looking for an activity for a day and we came here on a reduced admission day. What I found inside blew my mind. There was so much inside! The outside is deceiving, there are many worlds to explore. Some of it was geared for the mature crowd but there was enough to keep my 11 and 6 year old entertained as well. There were period actors on the days that we visited and they helped with the learning experience so much! There was so much to see that we ran out of time....definitely plan several hours to get through all the levels. We will be back!

I actually visited on January 1, 2015 but the site wouldn't yet allow 2015 months. Anyhow, I read a few other reviews before posting mine. The museum has listened to past visitors' reviews! They have added interactive children's stations and are building a whole children's discovery area, although that looks like it won't be ready for a few months. Also, they have benches in almost every area so those needing a break every so often are covered. The entry fee was highly reasonable for everything you can see under one roof, the exhibits are comprehensive, you receive a map upon entry, staff is friendly, and just a handful of the exhibits were off display for cleaning, etc. One thing I think would make it better would be if they added a note on the placards stating where items (the ones they know, anyhow) were found and when. Some artifact placards mention this, but not most. Also, minus the third floor, the museum was cold! If that is in the interest of protecting everything, I'm all for it, just want visitors to know beforehand so they can bring a jacket in and take their time enjoying the exhibit.

The Museum was a joy for the adults to experience and had a wealth of knowledge . The children 10 and under were very bored until the third floor. We partook in the questionnaire for each age group and that became a chore to keep up with because each question strayed from one another so much. The building is confusing to tour with little direction if tour for the first time. I found myself retracing my steps often.

Not the largest museum collection I've seen. It was small, but nice. I spent an interesting hour or so browsing the displays. There was a nice variety from several different cultures and time periods.

We first saw the beginnings of this museum years ago as an "exhibit" at Century II Concert Hall. We had just ourselves returned from a trip to Egypt the previous year, so we were amused at the doctor's fascination with Egyptian mummies, as well as his collection of Dinosaur bones. At that point in time, we had a toddler. Over the years, the doctor's collection became shown at more and more places, outgrowing the previous locations. At last, the museum was able to acquire this building, and it has been a good fit for both the Old Town area as well as the museum. They have an impressive collection of autographs, political history, and collections from the various periods of war. It's not as big as museums in larger cities, but it's a nice one for our area, and fairly family friendly, even now as our toddler is about to finish high school. There's a children's play area on the top floor, and age-appropriate "Scavenger Hunt" questions for visitors to use in searching out some of the treasures.I might add, this museum does have an elevator and ramps outside, so most areas I'd say are wheelchair accessible. I have seen some videos that were open captioned but many are not captioned at all. I'm not remembering any signage or indication of accessibility for individuals who are blind or low vision. May have to call ahead to verify if that's an issue for you.It has been several months since we were last year, like late winter or spring 2014. Coupons are usually available in the Entertainment Book. They usually have free admission for Mothers with paid children or spouse admission for Mother's day, or free for the Dad's on Father's day, that sort of thing. Occasionally there are other special occasions where admission costs are reduced, bundled packages, or free. In addition, there are annual membership packages which allow for unlimited visits. You can spend much more than 1-2 hours here, or more. I wish they had more benches around, since all the floors are concrete and that gets hard on one's back in a hurry. I can't remember for sure about refreshments - obviously food and drink are not allowed in the main museum areas, but the children's area upstairs also has "birthday party" or other meeting rooms, and refreshments are generally allowed there. I have seen parents of toddlers discreetly feeding their little ones up there with foods from their personal bags etc, and when I have accompanied school kids on their field trips, one of the sidelights was a break for some snacks up there as well. Can't hurt to call ahead to double-check the "rules" (and the restrooms are upstairs I think on the second or maybe third floor, west side of the building, with water fountains in the hallway leading to the restrooms.

This is a little treasure of Wichita. This museum has some very wonderful exhibits that are engaging for younger kids and adults. If your looking for something to do, please do not skip this place.
