We enjoyed the view of the lake. Cabin, could use a little updating. But over all a nice experience.

Its so beautiful, my family and I went to camping, fishing and walking for 3 days, my kids were so happy it's a nice place to expend some time with family and have great moments, bathrooms are clean, but you need a lot of food, it's a store outside of de park but it's a little expensive so it's better bring everything what you thing need.

It's not Glacier NP, but on a nice day it's about as good as you'll see in Central Kansas. Rock Town Cove is only accessible by boat or that trail. It's the clearest lake in KS (salt water too) and a great place for a picnic when you get the Rocks that are on the shore. There are other parks and walks there too and you can rent an easily maneuvered boat with an outboard motor if you don't want the walk.

Our experience was amazing! The campsites were very clean, neat and handy. The hostess was very helpful and friendly. Our expectations were well exceeded! Would definitely stay again. Great!

We camped here in an RV right next to the lake with a great view. This state park is lovely and provided lots of opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, and just about any other summer activity we could think of. The bathrooms were adequate - the shower area was like a high school locker room - just a couple spigots right next to one another, but at least the water was hot! The lake was beautiful, though previous campers had left a good deal of trash along the rocky shoreline. I took my 8 and 6 year old for a short hike off the Big Bluestem loop that was challenging enough for them, but left them feeling successful. Unfortunately we picked up ticks along that hike, so hike with care and lots of DEET. Our daytime experience there was really fabulous - my son even caught a fish - so I feel somewhat bad giving it only two stars, but based on our night time experience I can't recommend actually camping there. The sun went down without incident, but around 10 pm the Kansas thunderstorms rolled in and the wind picked up. Without much of anything to block the wind we were totally at the storm's mercy and we spent all night rocking back and forth in the RV - so much that I got motion sick and our dog threw up. It was absolutely terrifying - especially because the beautiful spot we had chosen was right next to a cliff drop down to the lake. We are not novice campers, we have weathered many, many storms, but this was beyond my imagination - we were afraid to open any of the doors even to evacuate because we didn't know if the wind would fill the RV and lift it or what - plus there was no fully enclosed structure to evacuate to, so there was no point. We had checked the weather numerous times that day so we thought we were in the clear, but Kansas is Kansas and no one can control the weather. I would say the park itself would get 4 stars without that crazy storm. I was so frightened that night I can say that we will never sleep there in our RV again, but utilizing the lake for day use, or perhaps renting one of their cabins, should be enjoyable.

Great boating, jet skiing, swimming and camping. Very clean park, in fact around the entire lake, all 99 miles of shoreline. The camp sites are for tents or campers, some sites have the water & electric hookups. They also have a great marina. You can drive across the dam and go up to the top of the hill and see most of the lake from a fantastic viewing area. Bath houses are kept clean too. The park workers are very nice and helpful.

We had heard really good things about Wilson Reservoir so decided to take a mini vacation and we were not disappointed! It is beautiful! We rented cabins in the state park area. One night in the Otoe area (Elm Bluffs) and the next in Hell Creek area (Foxfire). Amenities were good. You need to bring your own toiletries, food and bedding everything else is provided. We really enjoyed our stay! The weather was terrific-one evening a beautiful thunderstorm came through wonderful to watch. We saw lots of interesting critters and enjoyed the natural beauty!! Strongly recommend the hiking trails especially the Rock Town Natural Area hike-gorgeous the entire way and the half way point view is spectacular! We kayaked and did a little fossil hunting as well (check with Corp office before fossil hunting). It was great!!

We camped here in an RV for one night. The lake and surrounding area in the park are beautiful and a pleasant surprise after traveling on I-70. There were wind warnings when we were there and it was blowing like crazy and hot (95 F and higher) so that you could not cook or eat outside. The wind died down the next morning and then we realized the benefit of the wind - keeping the sand flies at bay. I'm not sure camping here would be very pleasant on a completely calm day due to the flies. However, I would have reated the park higher except for the bathroom facilities. They were not clean, toilet paper was everywhere and the shower in the mens and womens bathrooms are not private. Then again, there are not many options nearby for camping if you are just driving across Kansas.

Kansas cleanest lake. You can actually see down into the water more than two feet. Nusinance creatures have emerged tough. Be aware if camping to watch the weather. It's Kansas and things can get dicey quick. WIlson is in the open so not much for shelter from the sudden burst of wind.

My family stopped on a whim. stayed one night, and slept under the stars. The camp grounds are well maintained and bathrooms were adequate. We hiked the Dakota trail and enjoyed the scenic stone posts the area is known for. The trails need some work but were still easy to follow.
