Cook's Bison Ranch proved to be a fun adventure for our young grandchildren ages 4 to 8. They got to feed the bison as they came up to our covered wagon(modern type) and stuck out their long tongues. The guide gave a little history talk about buffalo, the farm, and its importance today. Afterward we bought a buffalo burger which turned out to be quite good and a little sweet tasting.

I had a friend and her grandson visit me and my grandson, so I took them to Cook's Bison Ranch so the grandkids could see the bison. We had a great time and the grandkids were so excited to be able to feed them and to see how big the bison were. We even bought some bison burgers to take home with us. We had a great day!

We took our 6-year-old and one of her friends for an afternoon visit to Cook's. We boarded a covered wagon that was pulled by a tractor and rode out into the huge pasture to observe the bison and were even able to feed them. Our guide was very knowledgable and answered our many questions and provided lots of interesting facts pertaining to the bison. We then ate bison burgers for lunch there. It's a bit pricey, but if we find another special, we'll definitely go back!

This was an interesting afternoon visit but not worth the money charged. A covered wagon pulled by a tractor takes you out into a field where you are safely able to view the herd and hand-feed the friendlier cows and calves who come up to the wagon. Seeing the bison that close was really neat and watching the bull chase after his chosen cow was even better - the sounds he made and the way he stuck out his great pointy tongue was fascinatingly gross, but hard not to watch. They were all surprisingly large and gave me a great appreciation for the bravery of the native American hunters who rode among the herd on their relatively small horses and primitive hunting tools. The children on the wagon were especially thrilled. There's not much there except the wagon ride, though. Some pricey frozen buffalo and a few souvenirs inside the main building and a monstrous stuffed buffalo head with which to snap a picture or two were about the extent of the offerings.
