This was a great place to visit! We were in Greenfield to see James Whitcomb Riley sites and made an appointment here. Our guide, I forget his name, was super nice and very informative. The home was one of many early places on the National Road where travelers could stop to sleep and eat, which would be more comfortable and safer. It is the eastern regional office of Indiana Landmarks, in which my mom volunteers with. The first floor is beautifully preserved, with a parlor, dining room and kitchen, offices are on the second and third floors but in the basement where travelers probably stayed, has an exhibit on the National Road, even how it was in the 60's and modern day. It had 2 interactive computer exhibits, which I was surprised to see in such a small and little visited museum. It is definitely worth visiting. I visited in June 2012.

This is an awesome historic home. Our tour guide, Jim, was really into sharing the story of how the Huddleston's made their living and how they helped travelers trekking westward on the National Road in search of land. In the basement their are high tech, interactive exhibits focused on the history of the Historic National Road, from pioneer era to the present. My ten year old LOVED it!
