Cypress Bend has a beautiful tasting room and shop. The price for tasting is very reasonable and you can choose the price that includes a wine glass, which I like to have for my collection. In addition to their facilities, they have amazing entertainment opportunities, which include Jazzy Fridays and Beach Fridays, which are typically $10 per person. I so hope to go to one of their "girls nights out." I have also been lucky enough to see a wedding on their premises, which was absolutely GORGEOUS!
On a spur of the moment afternoon, we decided to visit the near by Cypress Bend Vineyard just 25 minutes from our house after passing the sign numerous times. It was a delightful trip especially this time of the year when the vines are heavy with fruit. We took our three kids and as my husband and I picked several types of grapes for just $1 a pound, the kids chased frogs at the vineyard's small pond. There was a wedding being planned and the other staff was busy so the owner himself was the one who took us on our personal tour. Dan Smith was an absolute pleasure to learn from! He explained the grape-to-wine process in a captivating way. He answered all our questions and was wonderful to our children as well. My husband & I enjoyed their taste testing before leaving and again learned the history of the names of the wines from the friendly staff. We felt so welcomed, never rushed, and can't wait to come back for the Jazzy or Beach Fridays, they have with food & music without the kiddos on a date. Locals need not look far for a wonderful place to visit.
A friend at work suggested this place to me for a great date night on a Friday! My husband and I attended the "Beach Friday" and I must say we had such a GREAT TIME! The band performed all the great oldies and everyone stayed out on the dance floor. The wine was the best I have ever had and I must say the set up was just really nice. I will be returning this Friday for Jazzy Fridays with friends. If you are looking for something to do in the Fayetteville area this is definitely the place to go. Definitely a nice grown folks outing!Details:The cost was $10 to enter. The band played from 7-10pm. You purchase your wine which is quite inexpensive (very affordable) there is a food truck that sells really good food (hamburgers, chicken wings, etc) or you can bring your own food from the outside. There is a tent set up with tables as well as chairs outside of the tent. The actual building where the restroom is located is very attractive. Its just a nice atmosphere all around. Great for a date night or just to hang with your friends.
We found Cypress Bend in a web search and decided to take the several hour trip to check them out. Glad we did! We each enjoyed the tasting of dry muscadine and other NC grapes wines and had to have a few bottles Cab Franc. We also grabbed tickets to the "Jazzy Friday" festivities. The jazz/R&B band was a lot of fun and the 70's era music brought back fond memories for us and the crowd of several hundred of our new wine drinking friends under a big tent next to the tasting room. We snacked on complementary cheese cubes and a variety of crackers and loved the curried chicken salad. We purchased dinner from an onsite food vendor truck from a selection of several sandwiches, sides, and non-alcoholic beverages. We opted for the BBQ sandwiches with cole slaw and mozzarella sticks with marinara, which went well with the Franc. The vineyard was operating a bar under big tent with the wine being sold at regular price in nice ice buckets to take the edge off the warm summer evening. We will definitely be back on an odd Friday to enjoy the beach music evening that alternates with the jazz band.
My husband and I visited the Cypress Bend Vineyards on the way to Fayetteville, NC. We were very impressed with their wines. They have won many competitions and awards for their wines. We did a tasting for $5.00 and it was well worth it. We were so glad we stopped by because we had plans to go visit Duplin winery the next day. But after stopping here we changed our mind and we now have a new favorite. Can't wait to return. Thanks.
Visited this beautiful winery with a few friends at the beginning of May 2014. We paid the $5.00 to do the tasting and it was a blast! The lady working with us did a fantastic job explaining each wine and even the history of the winery. The cost of the tasting includes 6 wines to taste and a souvenir wine glass to take home. After the tasting we bought a bottle of wine and sat on the gorgeous patio overlooking all the vines. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing afternoon/evening. It looks like they have some really fun events on weekends as well.
We visited Cypress Bend Vineyards Jan. 11, 2014 based on information from friends. It was a lovely place and Jessica was absolutely awesome. She was able to give us history, types of grapes used, combinations for specific wines, and during the tasting offered her opinions of specific ways to serve the wines. It was a truly great experience that we had only experienced from larger wineries. We also found out that on Fridays they have Jazz or Beach Music. Their website has a schedule. Very inexpensive way to enjoy a night out with friends. I highly recommend anyone that enjoys wine, visit this winery for a delightful experience. http://www.cypressbendvineyards.com/
A hidden little gem in a small town! Cypress Bend Vineyard is a great place to go taste some wine and get a tour of the winery. The owner toured us on our own private tour and he was spectacular! Talked to us for a long time and answered all our crazy questions about wine making! Then got to taste all these delicious muscadine wines! I was won over! Have since been back with an out-of-town friend who too loved the wine. Also have been for some of their events, such as the Fall Harvest Festival, where they had live music, wine slushies, non-alcoholic wine slushies for my teen who came along with me, and lots of vendors, as well as a wagon-ride tour of the vineyard where they stopped and let you even taste the grapes right off the vine! Love this vineyard and will be back again!
We were making our annual trip to Hilton Head Island and hubby an I decided we wanted to avoid traveling on Saturdays. Those of you who know the I 77 corridor understand why. Anyway we did some research and decided to try an overnight to break up the trip. We enjoy winery visits and jazz, so when we found this place along an alternate route, trying it was a no brainer. I messages the owners via Facebook to get some details and suggestions about places to stay. The were quick to respond. So every other Friday night they have live jazz at their veranda-Mike Wallace Quartet. Excellent musicians, Mike plays sax, flute and has a wonderful voice. There is a 10 dollar pp cover, but you get three full hours of music, a bargain. You can bring in food or buy from a vendor who sets up, but no outside drinks allowed. Wine varieties are 5 dollars a glass or you can buy a bottle for 10-15. Many locals, lots of dancing. The reasons I only gave it a 4 rating are the mossies (bring repellent and a second application), the lack of bathrooms (porta potties were not bad, but they are still porta potties), and the wine varieties are a bit sweet to my tastes( most are muscadine varietals). On the opposite Fridays, they offer a beach band. I think we would enjoy that as well. The nearest lodging is about 10 miles away in Laurinburg just off 74. Not ideal if you want to share a bottle of wine though. We would do this again in a heartbeat, but bring more bug repellent.
This winery has a lovely tasting room and beautiful grounds. The property has lots of spaces to come and enjoy a picnic lunch and wine. The wine is good but too Sweet for my taste.
It was a cold evening in March. We were down to visit our 22-year-old daughter at St. Andrews college in Laurinburg. We took her out there for a little "dress up" outing. The band was first rate. Good jazz and dance music which got the crowd up out of their chairs. Free raffles for wine. Excellent food vendor supplied BBQ and fixins. The tent was enclosed with propane heaters so we were toasty warm. We all agreed it was fun, festive, and well done. We will go back when we return for graduation. Also the wine was sublime. We ordered some shipped back home to MN.There is a $10 cover charge for Jazzy Friday. Well worth it. We also did a wine tasting earlier in the day. No wine tasting is available during the concerts.
