Great winery and vineyard. The old barn is now a tasting room, the wine bottles in milk jugs, the atmosphere, and the friendly staff make this a very unique and fun winery to visit.
I had a delightful time at this vineyard but I must warn you that their wines are potent! We were lucky to have a professional perform our tasting and he was very knowledgeable on the wines. To me this makes a difference and I am happy when wineries invest in their product this way. We purchased some of their wines as well as a glass since they are not included in the tasting. There is history about the winery so make sure you ask. Would recommend this winery and will return.
This was our first time visiting this winery, and we very much enjoyed our visit. The tasting room is in one of the original horse barns, and has been transitioned in to a lovely tasting room. The staff was incredibly friendly and shared very interesting stories about the history of the farm. Be sure to ask about Klondike, the cow. Nice wines. We definitely go back. There are also several cabins on the property which are for rent.
Grassy Creek Vineyards and Vineyard was one of several wineries that we visited in Elkin, NC. We did some wine tasting and they had some complimentary food. The crab dip was very good. I really liked the one desert wine that they offered and so I bought a bottle. When we were leaving a musician was just setting up to play. I wish we had some more time to hang around and listen. I highly recomment this winery if you are in the area.
We visited as part of a wine tour and really enjoyed both the tasting and the tour of the nearby cabins afterward. They had a fellow singing with an acoustic guitar in the tasting room which added to the experience.
What makes this winery different is the history of the land. Make sure & ask about the the dairy farm stories as they are rich in history & fun facts! The wines were very good & like everyone else, love the "milk bottle" wines!
This was our second visit to Grassy Creek because we had a card that if you visit a certain 4 wineries, you get to choose one and go back for a free tasting and we chose this one. Wines are great and we seem to make sure we purchase both the red and the white that come in the milk bottles as a throwback to when it was a dairy. Glad they switched to wine as they are doing a great job. Staff are always so helpful and even made a call to see if we could get a dinner reservation. We also seem to always find some trinket to buy as they have quite a few items to add to your wine decorating, This winery is well worth a visit.
We were greeted by the "welcoming committee" of the owner's dogs. After that, a delightful tasting of all the wines. Loved the wines in the dairy bottles, reflecting the dairy heritage.
Wonderful hospitality, conversation, wines, and relaxing time. This was our second time at Grassy Creek, this time we had a Groupon and it was a great deal. Can't wait to wear my hat to help them advertise their great wines. THANKS AGAIN!!
What a lovely vineyard & winery. We were lucky enough to attend an outdoor event here last weekend and while there we toured the facility. It is just delightful. Honestly the kind of place that just makes you feel good, and no, not just because of their delicious wines (personal recommendation - 2008 Yadkin Valley Chambourcin)! Highly recommend for a day trip from Winston Salem, Greensboro or Charlotte; it is pretty much centrally located to all those cities.
LOVED the history of this place!! The wine is quite yummy as well and my favorite comes in a milk bottle!!! If you do visit make sure you ask about the cow stories!!! FUN!
Great place to stop very neat way to do it in a barn. Good atmosphere and nice people. A must stop and even play a game of corn hole.
This winery, located in a rural area near Elkin, NC, proved to be a much better than average visit for a local winery. The tasting room and retail shop is in an old converted horse barn and is picturesque to say the least. We enjoyed a selection of their red wines and ended up purchasing a couple of bottles at a very reasonable price. We still thought the wine was very good when we drank it a few days later. The cost of the tasting was about average. The man operating the room was friendly and very knowledgeable. The vintner came in while we were there and we got a chance to interact with him. Like the host, he was very friendly and conversational. All in all, this winery offers a nice product served up by nice people in very pretty surroundings. The winery is located a couple of miles off of U.S. 21 North.
Beautiful tasting room that use to be a barn. Great place to pick up gifts. Wine was tasty. I purchased a rewined candle here and it has become one of my favorites. Enjoyed my stop here.
I do enjoy Grassy Creek Vineyards. They always make you feel comfortable, great wines and events. They also sell a lot of items for gifts or yourself.
