Everything is looking up for Cramer Mountain Country Club. No more bankruptcy thanks to a private investor and the residents of Cramer Mountain, it is going to be better than ever. The new pool is open, the tennis courts have been resurfaced and restored, the golf course is looking great and will be open next year. I have lived in this neighborhood for 10 years. Until last month I had only been to the pool two times, the pool was pretty sad. Now it is GREAT! My only wish is that it was not closing this weekend for the winter. My husband and I have had a blast the past few weekends at the pool since it reopened. What a great job they did on the pool, and it is not even complete yet. Next season the playground, basketball court and cabana will be complete. I am so excited. I don't golf but there is a lot of excitement about the golf course and even now it is looking great. Cramer Mountain is going to be better than ever!
I lived there for three years. Great place to live with beautiful houses and well laid out. The club, however, is a COMPLETE DUMP. It was a joke for years prior to its going into bankruptcy.
The club could be really nice if properly maintained. Now is shut down due to bankruptcy. Too bad, the golf course is very challenging, but closed now. Hopeful it can come back to its previous glory someday . . .
Closed, golf and restaurant. Should be sold and reopening in 2013. Please make this change. Nothing else to write
This course has slowly degraded over time. It used to be a fun and challenging mopuntain course that has been poorly maintained. Cart paths are dangerous and course is full of drainage issues. Needs to be rescued!
Yes the green conditions are not ideal but our foursome did not experience the weeds the previous reviews stated. There were major brownspots that were slick but they look to be repairing the greens in stages and with 100 degree days in june and july that seems to be their only choice. Fairways and rough were fine, no dirt or bare spots....again, if the weather would cooperate I would say they could be even better. The course layout itself is unlike anything in the Charlotte area. Mix Palisades, Eagle Chase, Boone Country Club and you might get the idea. If they can get their greens up a notch or two this would be a gem. For the price and overall experience we really enjoyed ourselves.
Played here using a $20 coupon and that is just about what this course is worth. The layout isn't bad, but the conditions are pretty bad. The greens have weeds growing on them, the fairways have dirt in them, the cart paths are torn up, and the club house looks like a scene from a scary movie from the 80's.
I have played there once and my experience was that for the price they charge to play the course should be in top shape but it was not when I played. I will not return unless the rates dropped. There are nicer courses in the area that are kept up better for less $ Try Crowders Mountian, Gaston municipal, Deer brook, River bend, West port, Lark haven normally for less $ and better course in my opnion
Very elegant and pricey bruch. I think it's $20-$25 per person, all you can eat, Sunday bruch with tons of food. White table clothes, waiters dressed up, very classy place. Really out of the way, so unless you live near Cramerton, would not be worth a trip from Charlotte. Not open to the public during the week.
course was in terrible shape looks like they are going out of buisness the only thing that was nice was the golf carts they charge $35.00 for a goat track will never return there trees down all over greens were all sand but not aerated and tee boxes were bare and sand traps had no sand just mud BEWARE PLAYING THIS DUMP!!!!!
This place is a complete joke. From the club house to the golf course everything is old and run down. The greens on the whole course were the worst I have ever seen by far. It is hard to call them greens, more like browns. They are brown and covered with weeds and get this, ant hills, I am not kidding, most of the greens had ant hills on them. The owner/owners of this place should be arrested for fraud. The only way I would return to this place is if the owner gave it to me. Even then I would only be returning to burn the place down.
