river park at cooleemee falls

Took at trip to the park to take pictures of Cooleemee Falls. What a view! After parking in the lot, walk down a trail for a short distance. You can hear the Falls before you can see them. The trail ends up at the river, then look to your left. Wow! There is a large rock face that runs down into the river. Be careful it could be slipper. There is a nice beach area for sunbathing. Swimming is at your own risk. (The rocks are slippery and the water fast moving). Great for photos. There is a restroom near the parking lot and a picnic area. Good for a day trip.
