The golf course tee-green was in good shape. The greens were spotty in a few areas (probably due to the recent seeding. A nice layout, fairways are wide. Course is very playable for all skill levels. 5 sets of tees are available. If you are staying around this area, the course is worthwhile to play. IF you are staying in the area some of the real estate (Margaret Rudd agency was ours) places will give you discount vouchers. Driving Range, Chipping area, and small putting green available. Snack bar and pro shop on site. Played the course twice which was helpful. Staff seems very friendly. Saw Momma and five small alligators the first time and a mid-size the second round. Don't bother them and they won't bother you.
A nice open course with well kept greens and fairways. The oaks lining the fairways are beautiful, also there are beautiful ponds and you might even see an alligator or two.
This is a good, open course that has some reasonably good greens. They had overseeded and were letting the course grow for the winter. The greens were a little slow but okay. I played with a couple of members Gene and Scott which made the round very enjoyable. A couple of birdies made up for some wayward shots. So, overall a good experience on the links!
Nice day, we were the first group out at 715 back home by 1030 and we did not rush. Playing again tomorrow.
Nice layout. Lot of water, but rarely comes into play if you are hitting it straight. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. $55 for vacationers, $35 for locals. Grill attached to clubhouse.
This course is very enjoyable. Wide Open course with tricky greens. Staff is very friendly. Cost was very reasonable. I haven't played very much this year and it was forgiving but challenging. I would strongly recommend playing it.
Very nice course, wide open off the tees but greens were fast and in good shape. Plenty of wildlife. Marshalls were friendly and made you feel welcomed, excellent dinner in "Duffers" bar and grill afterward. Would recommend for a someone looking for a nice relaxing afternoon round.
We visited Oak Island golf course New Years weekend. Friday our 4 some played 18. We used the driving range first. Ok no problems, they have a starter and rangers. 90 degree rule in effect. The course is nicely laid out and the putting greens were fast. Some tricky water spots but overall very satisfying. Saturday and Sunday we played only 9 holes each day as that was all our spouses would allow, LOL. And play was very slow even with the rangers. We had some guys pushing us and complaining but we couldn't go any faster than the guys ahead of us. Hurry up and wait! Staff was professional and helpful. Had a beer cart all three days. Would definitely head back!!
We visited Oak Island and took some time to get in 9 holes at the golf course. Overall a very nice course and attentive staff in the pro shop but course organization is poor. My mate had his boys with us riding and they had no issue giving us another golf cart. There was a starter but that is where the organization ended and pace of play was pathetic. We teed of at 3:15 pm and gave up on the 9 holes at the 6th due to the impending sunset. I did not see the staff attempt to move up pace of play at any one time. As we drove past the groups in front of us on the way out we could easily have been two holes up with some course management based on what I saw. I would play here again due to the nice course but don't expect to get around in reasonable time.
nice fairways, nice greens and very friendly employees will play here every chance I can
Best part of this course is the view from the putting green. The staff acts like they're doing you a favor letting you play. They don't allow you to walk. Course design is boring and unimaginative - flat and wide open. Greens are good. With all the golf in this area don't bother with this place.
