This is a great little family park right in downtown N. Augusta. It's a fun place to walk, bicycle and even fish or just nature watch. There are few trails and a boardwalk with a covered pier.
good nature area. nice trails thru wetlands and ponds. lots of wildlife to see. hard to believe its tucked into a city. love seeing the occasional gator in the ponds. almost always see turtles n birds.
A beautiful place to be!great pact too the day with family too watch wildlife, have a picnic, take pictures, fish, or have weedding. As the seasons change so do the things you will experience there which make it all the more enjoyable, plus being a natural park there is no charge too use the park or walk the paths, its perfect.
I took my family there on November 8th. The leaves had just started to turn so they weren't showing really good color yet. It is a nice, quiet area. I heard a lot of birds, but didn't see many. No alligators. Only turtles and fish in the water off the side of the East Pond Gazebo. The other side of the park (on the other side of Center St.) Is just as scenic, and a must see.
Beautiful. Peaceful and quite.Nice for walks, bike rides or a picnic. Super fun for the family or couples. Close to restaurants
Brick Pond Park is a great place to walk around and relax for a little while away from the city. We saw about 30 turtles, they are everywhere. Swimming in the water, up on logs. We saw a great blue heron and an egret. We also saw a snake. We were about 5 feet from an alligator and her babies. It was amazing, don't get too close. We took pictures and when we moved our stroller we must have scared her because she whipped right around. She was half in and half out of the water, in one of the center walkways. Very cool. It was afternoon when we went.
Great location for a photo shoot. Beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife. Facilities are clean. Love it!
This place is so great to go with your children. It's outside nature is a good lesson for the children that wildlife is all around you, even in the city. You can see birds, alligators, fish, and wonder water lilies. It's a great place to go spend some good quality time with your family.
A great place to visit for family and friends. Beautiful sightseeing a great view of the river lots of ponds
This place is simply great if you enjoy getting outside and enjoying nature. Especially if you've been confined to downtown Augusta for several days, this park is whole world away, in about a 15 minute walk. From the Savannah River Esplanade when heading Northwest, keep walking about .25 mile on the gravel trail until you get to 13th street. Cross the river using the sidewalk on the North side of the bridge and keep going. When you get to the large brick Church make a U-turn down the hill and you're at the park, and the gateway to the amazing North Augusta Greenway. I discovered it too late - my last day in Augusta. Check it out and enjoy!
If you want to see the alligators you will have to come in the evenings...best time is right before dusk. There is a path that goes all around the park...maybe a 1-2 Mile path. Several benches to sit on and take in all the wild life (frogs, dragonflies, turtles, fish, water birds, alligators, deer, snakes, etc). There is also a bridge with a pavilion that is on the water and that is an excellent place to have a picnic with the family. Our kids beg us to take them there. Another cool thing about this park is that it is connect to North Augusta's Greenway walking/ biking pathway system. Just a warning....no fishing or feeding the animals! This park is heavily watched by officers.
very natural setting on the greenway in North Augusta. paved and other maintained walking with lights, some picnic tables. lots of friendly people around, many of them regulars. a great place to relax especially early morning , late afternoon or early evening.
My first time here, I saw an alligator. There is so much wildlife to see here. My kids love it! Just don't let them get too close to the water. Still, the paths are great. We love it here!
We choose the brick pond to take family pictures, beautiful setting, close to north augusta. The kids loved seeing the birds, turtles, fish and alligators
The Brick Pond Park is a beautiful place to take a nice stroll and escape from the busy city life. The whole walk itself, at a nice slow pace maybe takes 30 minutes. Beautiful pond with lilly pads, lush green grass, very clean area great for a family outing.
