The MAC has a better collection of the plateau native Americans than the Smithsonian. There are multiple rotating exhibits in the main museum plus the 1890's Campbell house which is it's largest artifact. A definite stop and plan 2-3 hours

I am a firm believer in learning about the past in order to understand (or try to!) where we are and how we got there.Yes we can assume and take for granted too much but the MAC is a great way to learn about Spokane and it does so in a structured and interesting way.Extremely interesting and in my opinion a must see...

Current exhibit is of cleverly laid-out stories of local history. It's cool how the relevance of these stories to current life is made obvious to visitors. Very intelligent. This is an important museum. Worth every cent of admission.

This is an interesting museum of the history of the area. The layout is very clever with each exhibit numbered and taking you back in time as you descend to the lower levels. Ther was hands on "build a dinosaur" activity open to everyone. Included was a tour of a mansion next door, that was fascinating. Worth the entry fee.

With its great views of life in Spokane in early 1900s, the MAC is a fine museum. The ticket to the MAC includes a tour of the Campbell House and its Carriage House. Spent a couple of hours here touring the house as well as the exhibits in the museum. A mile walk from the Davenport Hotel, which is near the center of Spokane. Worth the trip.

Spokane lacks art, and it especially lacks art museums. The MAC, as it's called, gets good shows from time to time, and the permanent Native Art collection is always interesting, but, as a note to management, there's too much dependence on nostalgia here. Let's see more new local stuff like the current Dean Davis show.

The MAC is one of the most successful local cultural centers to adjust to the needs of the 21st century. The MAC has embraced opening up the museum for a wide variety of activities that include free museum cruising and live music on a monthly basis as well as sponsoring author and artist readings as well as hands-on craft activities for kids. Instead of wishing for days of generous patronage, the museum has recognized a need to appeal to a broader audience and has a host of activities to engage people of almost every interest in the community. Well-worth an afternoon or evening of cultural engagement w/ the exhibits and events occurring on a rotating basis.

we loved this museum that displays a collection of photographs showing life and people in Spokane over a centure ago. We also learned some amazing facts of great historical value and generally found it quite educational and entertaining. Don't miss on their cafe lunch selections with Lebanese flavors.

I had not been to the MAC for nearly five years. I walked over, and was impressed by the grounds keeping. When inside, I was warmly greeted by new personnel. I cruised the exhibits, both historical and new artists, and then revisited Joaquin Nails, one of my favorite humorous sculptures of welded railroad spikes bent into walking human figures. The gift shop was filled with delights, and the women there knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for a great welcome on my revisitation.

Loved the show, what history Spokane has with such talent. The MAC is such a gem, their shows always are a surprise. We are so lucky here in Spokane with

Whether seeing "Sue" the T. Rex, or a quilting display or Native American art or Spokane history, my grandkids and I always have fun. We all learn something from the special display as well as the standing displays. It's smallish, but that makes it "doable" in an hour or two.

Excellent tour of the Campbell House, and insight into the early days of mining, and railroading that were a part of early Spokane.

There really isn't all that much to the MAC. I've gone a few times for special displays and they were cool to see but the rest gets kind of boring. It's a small place and for what you get to see it's over proced. I don't mind paying for a good museum display but I think I'm going to pass in the future unless it's something extra cool.

but definitely worth the drive. This is an interesting little museum, with very friendly staff. Well worth the time and effort involved.

The Spokane MAC displays the various aspects and history of life in the Spokane area, past and present. The displays are uniquely presented in a "views" format. This means they take all the aspects of living or having lived in the area and present them in pictures or memorabilia. The displays provide an extensive history of the area in fun, interesting and informative presentations. The Campbell House and Carriage House are excellent examples of upper class life in Spokane by a captain of industry at the turn of the 20th century. This is an excellent museum to learn about life in Spokane throughout the history of the city and should be seen.
