Simply spectacular! Endless outdoor fun. A quietly spirited place that truly recharges you. We love this place and keep coming back.
Beautiful place. Great skiing. Great trail grooming. Friendly people. Very quiet and a bit isolated this time of year. Slim on amenities.
The Methow is spectacular, just don't Californicate it and turn it into Aspen. Donate to maintain the natural beauty, splendor, wildlife, and wonder of unmatched mountain majesty.
The Methow Valley is a year-round location for fun in the sun or fun in the snow. The trails in the winter host x-country skiers and in the summer hikers and bikers. It is a gorgeous valley that welcomes even those who just want to relax. Eagles soar and deer roam to give the nature lover an unforgettable adventure.
So many gorgeous views. So many trails to ski. A cute town with good food, and some seriously nice boutiques ( see both Quail Stores!) Some great places to stay, many next to a rushing river, at many price points. Friendly locals , Artist communities near by in Twisp- whats not to love?
ahd such a great time with our family, we went on a hike enjoyed the winter shopping and christmas. this was i could say one of the best places to stay with your family around, so much to do so much to see
This is a remote area no matter where you come from but the view is just stunning! Everything looks so mystical in the huge fog, everything seemed to be floating in the air. After the fog dissipated, the valley revealed itself to be an absolutely beautiful tranquility frozen in time!
This spot on earth has many, many opportunities for outdoor activites. Lots to do in all four seasons. We like the hiking in warmer months, and the snowshoeing in winter months. Wildflower displays in spring/early summer are usually spectacular.
Beautiful ride on the Scenic Cascade Highway. Photographers delight. Winthrop is adorable with little shops and lots of places to eat from pizza to dinner to ice cream. Very touristy but cute. Stayed at the Mt. Gardner Hotel and it was great. Clean and located in a great spot with a view of the mountain. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and would go again.,
beautiful scenary, not much in the way of fall colors yet will have to go back next week to see how much is changed.
Let's you feel like you've gotten away from it all. Be aware there is some road work now. The detour works but isn't well explained.
We drove the Scenic Cascade Highway into Winthrop. An amazing drive through gorgeous scenery. Lots of places to stop and take pictures, hike and just generally enjoy the views. Winthrop itself is a quaint little town that has kept it's western theme since the late 1800's. The shopping and stores are mostly tourist driven but worth a stop if you're in the area.
Arriving in Winthrop town after dark we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It was very quiet, the managers were very friendly, the setting was just perfect for weary travellers. The river gurgling close by was so relaxing, the hot tub in a cedar encloseur, partially open on one side was a perfeact ending to a long day. The room was quite spacious, very comfortable and had all the amenities we required. Next morning, daylight showed us a quaint, western type town, boardwalks and so on. Some shops were closed for the season but never-the-less, we found adequate supplies we required, It was truly a wonderful experience for us.
Winthrop is setup as a western town motif, it is quite charming and lots of nice little shops to enjoy. Classic wood sidewalks makes it feel like the wild west never left. Often you will see wildlife roaming the streets, deer are common. The Valley around is beautiful with the river running right through town, lots of open range land and views for miles and miles. Hiking, boating, fishing lots of outdoor activities. If you have never been, you need to see this place.
Incredibly scnic drive with deer everywhere (caution!) Especially enjoyed winding along the Methow river and the quaint western town of Winthrop!
