Will say it was average the lighthouse is neat but surrounded with modern day weather reading equipment, beach area is good one side is sandy the other side is bigger beach rocks not great for walking. Port o potties were pretty foul as most are, but these were especially run down. Great views of mount rainier, no hiking around.
The light house is now decommissioned, but it once was cared for by the USCG. The "Coastie" houses are now availabel a vacation rentals, and the beach combing is exceptional, and the view of Mt. Rainer is incomparable--a must see.
We visited this lighthouse, and it turned out to be a quaint little stopping point for our dacation. There's a nice little beach and picnic tables.
Very nice isolated beach. At least it was isolated when I went there this last fall and again this week on a holiday week. I and my wife were the only ones there. Great beach. If you time it right, you will see a huge contaier ship pass very close. Nice view across the Sound to Des Moines. Terrific view of Mount Rainier. Benches to just sit on and relax. If you like peace and solitude, you will love this spot.
Great little park and cute lighthouse. The lighthouse itself wasn't open when we went but had a sign saying you cal schedule tours and we'd definitely like to do that on our next visit. Someone mentioned bathrooms in a previous review and they are at the park (port-a-potties anyways) just in the lower area near the lighthouse itself.
We needed a restroom at the upper parking lot and according to the signs there was supposed to be one but nothing there but trees.
This is a great little park to walk the dog or just check out the lighthouse. The beaches are covered with cool pieces of driftwood. Not a very big park but nice. Looks like they have two old caretakers houses for rent. Also I believe they have lighthouse tours starting late Spring. I did peek in the windows and though small it looked like a museum. Will definitely check it out this summer,
I go here regularly to enjoy the view, and work from my laptop at one of the picnic tables. I can also take my dog on short walks either along the beach, or the trail that leads out of the park. The lodging offered here is very nice, especially given the location right on the water. This is a must see for all visitors, mainly because the lighthouse, and the journet to the park give you such a great taste of the island's beauty.
We had a wonderful time at this neat little park. Not only is it picturesque and secluded, it also has a nice spit of beach for a relaxing stroll, some gentle, dog-friendly hiking trails, and a small, charming lighthouse.
