This museum features exhibits relating to the town of Quilcene, on Hood Canal, which has a history of logging and oysters. Exhibits include household goods of times past, local lore and businesses. Located 1 block off of Hwy 101 (spans the Olympic Peninsula) it is not your usual small-town museum, but well-organized with volunteer docents who can help with background stories. It has a research library with growing holdings of historical pictures and oral histories. Grounds include a lovely picnic area, big grassy area, Linger Lodge Outdoor Theater (cedar and cement) with great acoustics and summer music events, dance area, and recently acquired Victorian Mansion(Worthington Park) from the 1880's which is being restored adjacent to the museum. I officiated at a wedding at the theater, the setting was perfect, room to relax and roam.
