The grounds are beautiful and the wine is very nice. The room is large but no shower is a disappointment at the $150 per night price. Bed was not very comfortable and needs new linens. Breakfast was made from very fresh ingredients and flavorful but lacked any real wow factor. Service was OK.
Driving to China Bend along the Columbia River from Kettle Falls is a beautiful mini-vacation in itself. China Bend Winery's Summer Party is my favorite experience for the Fourth of July weekend. I enjoy lounging in the Adirondack chairs with a glass of great wine in hand while listening to really good, local bands. Where else can you dance barefoot on a crochet lawn! I know from each previous year, that I will meet great people there. The winetasting is fun, and I learn something new each time. I always take several bottles home to remember this great summer experience latter in the Fall and Winter... It;s also fun to watch the young people play volleyball. Food is delicious and features organic and garden grown foods from Victory's Garden is always inspiring! When temperatures soar, one can cool off in the pebble-lined, clear Columbia River.
My husband and I recently moved to Orient and having seen ads for the winery, decided to check it out one afternoon. We are SO glad we did. It was the weekend of their Garlic Faire but we went the day before. It was the best of both. A garlic vendor was there early so we were able to get some delicious garlic, and since it was before the actual festival we were able to have the undivided attention of Bart during our wine tasting. The wines just got better and better. Along with the organic hummus and pesto made by Victory, we were happy just to enjoy the incredible bouquet of each wine we tried. The wines have the incredible flavor of the unique grapes used. We are definitely planning to make B&B reservations for our anniversary.
After weeks of chaotic wedding planning, this was the first stop on our honeymoon. We went to China Bend Winery based solely on tripadvisor reviews and were a little worried about where it was we were going to. Night was falling as we made our way, exhausted, down a rough road in the woods, but signs were up occasionally, assuring us we were on the right path. When we made the last turn before the winery, our jaws dropped. The scene before us was amazing... lush green trees, beautiful vibrant flowers, birds, a dog, a cat, and a couple of pretty buildings. We were greeted by Bart who was friendly and welcoming. He got us settled and took us for a very generous wine tasting and provided crackers and some very delicious dip during the tasting. THE WINE IS AMAZING! I don't normally like many kinds of wine, but I loved every single thing I tasted. I was in shock and wanted to buy one of everything. No sour/bitter/dry pucker afterwards, just beautiful flavour. By the time our tasting was done, we must have each had a glass of wine, then bought a bottle to drink in our room that night with a container of dip too.. We had been sleep deprived and working hard for our wedding, and I felt like I could nod off on the balcony, but didn't want to miss a moment of the beauty around us.We woke up the next morning and went down for coffee, and Victory brought us a beautiful breakfast with fresh veggies/fruits and amazing eggs, and pickled beans. My husband ate the fresh tomatoes (NEVER does) and said they were like candy, and LOVED the pickled beans (hates beans usually). I cleaned my plate LOL!They showed us warmth and great hospitality and were full of great information for our trip! I felt like I was in heaven surrounded by the lush greenery, the scent of flowers, and only the sounds of the frogs and crickets. If we didn't live so far, we would go back every single year for our anniversary. This was the perfect first night of our honeymoon, and a memory that we will always look back on fondly. Thank you Bart and Victory for making it so special!Simple and amazing!
This beautiful winery is situated at the Columbia river approx. 20 miles from Kettle Falls, WA. You have to drive a rough road down to the river but then one enters a paradise of flowers, wine trees, organic fruit trees and vegetable gardens. It is just stunning. Victory and Bart are wonderful and hospitable. We enjoyed the wine tasting and were lucky to be there on the 4th of July as all friends and neighbors gathered there bringing food and grilling wonderful fresh salmons on the large BBQ. We were taken in as family/friends and were invited to join the dinner party. It was wonderful and we highly recommend this wonderful place. It is only 20 miles from the Canadian border. The room is fantastic, high ceiling and a wonderful balcony with seats and views of the surrounding trees and gardens. The bathroom is nice and adequate with a bath tub.
A peaceful setting in rural Washington State on Lake Roosevelt. Events feature tours, food, entertainment, educational, presentations, merchandise vendors and China Bend Winery products. A "must see" in Eastern Washington!!!Disabled parking area. No stairs.
What a beautiful setting for A VINEYARD, Right on the river. Acres and acres.Good food, bed and breakfast. Wine tasting with no sulfites. Music. Such a relaxing time.
I went here for the Friday evening happy hour wine tasting. Their wines are amazing. Organic and sulfate free, totally hand crafted. The owners/operators/staff are so kind and welcoming. The food is phenomenal. It is worth the long journey! I brought back two bottles of their wine and I already wish I'd bought more (and I haven't even opened the one I did buy!). I highly recommend making a trip there.
A nice family operated winery. The people there are extremly friendly and helpfull. They also have some great wines and salsas.
