grant county historical museum

There is a lot to see in this museum so set aside a half a day for your visit. There are many heritage buildings to go through with unique displays.

I found the Grant County Historical Museum by accident in 2006. Just returned a few weeks ago. In addition to the main museum building, there are about 30 buildings set up as a town would have been in the late 1800s/early 1900s. A number of the buildings are true historic buildings that were moved to the museum site. Each building is accurately furnished and outfitted. They include a general store, doctor, church, hat store, barber shop, and many more. After seeing the dentist office, you will be thankful to live in the age of modern dentistry! Visitors are taken on the tour by a museum employee, and you should allow a couple of hours. I would not recommend the tour for kids who might have a problem with the "do not touch" rule. The museum has the rule in order to protect their artifacts. Other than that, kids should love it, and adults might recall some fond memories from times past. Adult admission was only $3.50! A real bargain! I enjoyed taking friends to this little gem. We drove from Seattle! Highly recommended.
