Restaurant, post office, gift shop, grocery store, deli food, tourist info, museum, lodge, and 3 campgrounds. Plus is really near a World Famous stand of giant sequoias!
Roaring river falls is a short hike from the parking area, and if you can visit in the spring when the river is realy going it is wonderful. but even in the early fall it is worth the short hike to the falls. When it is hot the spray from the falls will keep you cool.
Rarely nice staff that was both friendly and helpful. The setting is fantastic and the design of the center fits right in.
I am sure park rangers get very tired of answering repetitive questions over and over again but the ranger I encountered acted put out with my questions. I think he was bored. Had to wait in line to use restroom at this location.
The two members of staff there obviously love to work there, you can see they enjoy what they are doing. They definitely overcome your expectations when asked for help.Inside the centre there is a "museum" with information about the area and also a short movie is being played, no admission.Great!
A well laid out visitor center with lots of reference books, reading material and gift ideas. Located right at Grant Grove on Highway 180. An excellent place to stop and get help planning your visit, from local strolls to day hikes and more.
The ranger we met here (Joshua) was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave us an excellent set of recommendations for not only our local visit, but also our visit to their neighbor to the north, Yosemite. The gifts in the store were also really nice and were a great selection. The educational 'hallway' along the side was also well maintained and nice to visit.
Very nice visitor center, some very good information is shown, small gift area, friendly staff can answer any questions that you may have.
Staff was wonderful, friendly, and very helpful. They were patient and answered your questions thoroughly.
The people who work here are amazing. I left my purse at the Grant Grove parking lot while taking a picture and when I returned it was gone. This was very upsetting to me because we were travelling from out of state and I had EVERYTHING in there. I thought someone would turn it into the Visitor Center but they didn't (at least not yet - still have my fingers crossed). Even though the purse was not found the staff went above and beyond to help me. The people who work here truly care that you have an excellent time in the park. They didn't make me feel bad about asking them (about a million times) if my purse had been found and even still have kept in contact with me and have assured me numerous times that as soon as they know something they will let me know. Everyone here loves their job and you can really tell by the way they treat each and every guest who walks through the door!
They will loan you a wheelchair to help see the trees. Very helpful in guiding us to get the most out of our visit, if in doubt, ask, they are very nice.
Our counter helper was very specific in recommending what we should spend our limited time driving to see. She was patient and pleasant and enthusiastic about the area we asked about.
very handy services, generally quiet - except on weekends All the staff, incl. park rangers, were very helpful!
Out of all the national parks I have been to, I have seen my fair share of visitor centers. This one was ok. It wasn't the best I have been to but it was set up nice and was clean. The exhibits weren't as updated as they could have been but the rangers were helpful and the volunteers were on top of answering questions.
