pescadero state beach

Great beach area, beautiful high rocks lining the shoreline. Very nice place after a long drive. The walk north from the parking area is very nice. There's even an entrance to Batmans cave, lol. Not really, But the flat inset rock looks like it could be a doorway, Interesting for sure! About 1/4 or so there is a small cove area. It was high tide when we were there. Very nice stroll on the beach!

The coastal road here is beautiful and there are a couple of places to stop and look at the rock formations being battered by the surf. The car parking here is free at the two places I stopped and there were restrooms at one - not the cleanest rest room sin the world and no water to wash your hands but there is always the ocean. I loved watching the sea birds from the cliffs. There are sea lions bobbing around as well in the sea.

If you want to just drop by for half an hour to rest from a road trip or spend the day, this is a lovely respite. It's right along Route 1 about 14 miles south of Half Moon Bay and 2 miles inland is Pescadero town. There's decent parking but holidays make it a challenge. And if you've time, run into Pescadero town. There's a very good restaurant there and some interesting shops!

This is not a place you'd go for a weekend, but if you on the San Mateo Coast and want to go and look out over the water or walk on the rocks during low tide. The views when you really sit back and soak them in are nothing short of the best on the coast. Plus you have the wonderful little town of Pescadero only 2 miles inland where you will find great little restaurants like Duard's and Arcangeli's bakery/grocery.

This was an especially fine beach for walking or just sitting. Interesting rock formations just off the shore, one of which had a herd of seals resting and sunning themselves. Very close in and easy to take photos. Beach access is easy too.

Pescadero State Beach is a beautiful one mile beach aera with rocky cliffs and tide pools. There is also a Marsch Natural Preserve, which is a great place to see birds. They periodically schedule a ranger led walk through the marsch lands (when we were there we noted this week they were holding this on a Sunday).This is a nice place to take a beach walk as well. Its also a nice place for a picnic.

Great place to take a stroll. Parking is free, follow the trail down to the beach. Saw a lot of seals sunning themselves on the rocks.

Amazing does not quite describe the view. Parking is free and you can climb down to the beach, if you can handle moderate hiking.
