From the moment you arrive at the course, the staff makes you feel right at home. The clubhouse is beautiful. We were met at the entrance by the valet who could not have been more polite and helpful. While they managed our car and bags, we checked out the pro shop and checked in. Breakfast at the grill was outstanding. The locker room was outstanding. This is a club with a lot of history, and the photos in the men's locker room showcased the famous members. The course was in great shape. The day we played was very windy, but everyone in the group wanted to keep playing because of the quality of the course. We were met on the 18th by one of the course staff who took a group picture for us at the scenic 18th hole. The bar was well stocked, and the staff did everything to make us comfortable. This is a must play course in an area where you have plenty of choices. Choose Indian Wells.
Although there a dozens of golf courses to play in the Coachella Valley, you must play Indian Wells. With two tracks to choose from you will be mesmerized on several holes on both courses. Well manicured and maintained, they have created difficult but fair courses that reward for good golf management. Excellent food and ice colds drinks at the bar. Well stocked pro shop too!
If you are in the Palm Springs area and love golf, this is worth the stop. The big problem is getting a tee time because the Players and Celebrity courses are in demand.Good bar and great restaurant. Whether a tall cold one after a round or and intimate dinner at the Vue, well worth the stop.If you you want to play in late fall and/or winter, you may not finish eighteen if your tee time is after 12:00 PM.
Course was in fantastic shape. Was am amazing experience from the minite we arrived till be got back in our car. The Proshop could not do enough to make us fell welcome . Food was great after the game. Thanks for every thing.
This is a beautiful gold course. Very well maintained with great scenery. Challenging but not over the top. The club house is beautiful and the food is very good. Wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine and nice food after a round. Definitely one of the nicest courses here. We will go back.
Friendly, professional and helpful staff, it was so hot one day we couldn't finish our round and they let us finish our round early the next morning! Helpful hints on playing and advice on sizes for clothing. Loved it
I've played hundreds of golf courses over the past 20 years. The Indian Wells Celebrity Course, back 9 holes in particular, are some of the prettiest I've ever seen. The clubhouse is a work of art, huge, and one of the best equipped... I'll definitely be back!
I enjoyed lunch at this location twice while staying across the street. The ambience of the restaurant was wonderful - both sophisticate and relaxed. The menu was wonderful and service great. I will definitely return.
Had a great time and played the Celebrity course on a recent trip to Palm Springs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even with windy conditions we enjoyed our game!
Played in March. Golf course in great shape. Marshals friendly and helpful. Pace of play was not bad. Rented clubs from the Pro Shop. Clubs in good shape and can not be used as an excuse for my high score.
After the weather went through Palm Springs we planned a day here and signed up for the "all you can eat package."It had rained so the range was muddy and restricted to 175 yards - that stunk and every ball you hit you had mud on your shorts. Most won't have this problem. We went out at 9:20 and played the Players Course - nice course, greens in great shape. We got very lucky and were able to finish and immediately turn onto the celebrity course. We got lucky that a 2some didn't show so we got lucky. Otherwise we would have to waite 40 minutes. Even so - we got 35 holes in and it got way too dark.Note to the "all you can eat" rate - no guarantee you get out again at all - or on which course (might have to play same one again")In any case I *will* be visiting this again. And looking at the Renaissance 'all you can eat' golf plans. Was hearing good things from the folks we were playing with.
I played both courses on my trip and both were good resort courses with lightning greens. Great practice area.
The picture and I believe the club referenced is Indian Wells Country Club, a private course for members and guests only. Most of the reviews here are intended to be for the Indian Wells Golf Resort which is a city owned resort for the public, residents and hotel guests. That being said, Indian Wells Country Club is steeped in history and was the beginning of the community of Indian Wells with the course and the hotel supported by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. For many years it hosted the Bob Hope Desert Classic and was frequently the final round course for the event. As a teen, I never missed the Classic and one year as I walking up the hill to the eighteenth hole, a golf cart stopped and the driver said I looked tired and did I want a ride? So I rode to the 18th with Bob Hope and Dwight Eisenhower. A moment in my Indian Wells Country Club history I have never forgotten.
In January the cost is $155 but relatively speaking for the area it's worth it! We were on the Players Course and conditions were perfect, very fair but challenging! The course is beautiful and just plain fun to play in every way. Pace of play was good for a resort and we finished in 4 hours.
We've played the player's course twice - there are two (celebrity and players). The course can be challenging - with seven sets of tee boxes choose your distance wisely! On this visit we were matched with a couple. The gentleman felt he could play from the tips at 7300 yards and spent the first nine holes complaining that he couldn't figure out what was wrong with his game. When he moved forward to a shorter tee box he found his game improved. The clubhouse is an experience all on it's own with excellent choices for pre-post game snacks or meals. The course is excellently maintained and fun to play. The staff is always courteous and professional from the valet's at the bag drops, to the starters and ambassadors on the course, to the wait staff in the restaurants.
