community memorial museum

The Sutter County museum provides a quick and easy introduction to the history and peoples of California's central valley. The maps, artifacts and exhibits of the many native American tribes were a revelation (we were educated and have lived in CA for decades without being introduced to the breadth of these tribes). This small museum also introduced us to the many immigrant groups that have come to the central valley, the events that brought them here (including an introduction to the barriers to immigration), as well as some great photos from the early 20th century.
