swenson park golf course

Hi gang, Looking for a different place to play? Try Swenson Park GC in sunny Stockton, Ca. I was looking for a change of view so I decided to play here. The course is almost 60 yrs old and has the mature Valley Oak trees to prove it. I paid $29 (Sr rate w/cart), check in was swift and simple. The layout is what I call a "valley" course, flat, tree-lined that meanders with side-be-side fairways. The 1st hole is a short but tight par 5. There are some long par 3's and a lake comes into play on one hole that'll challenge your driving ability. There are fewer bunkers than on a normal tract, cart paths are virtually nonexistent so the ever-present tree roots create a bumpy cart ride. Overall I recommend a visit here, prices are fair. There is a driving range in so-so condition, a nice chipping area and a putting green. I saw a restaurant on the facility, but didn't investigate the offerings. Hit 'em straight.Rich
