This is a very unique museum, and it has not been open very long (less than 2 years). It is getting better and bigger every few months. Very interesting place to visit.

I went to the Seabee Museum because my father was a Seabee in WWII, and he was actually stationed at Port Hueneme. So the visit began as a kind of tribute to my dad, but it quickly became a very enjoyable learning experience. Who knew? The Seabees were--and are--amazing! The museum, itself, is impressive. It's quite new and well laid-out. The exhibits are easy to see and very interesting. A thirty-minute film details the history of the Seabees, with what appears to be actual footage of WWII events. The film is a little difficult to see and hear, but it repeats continually and you're free to watch awhile and leave. Several exhibits include actual projects built by Seabees, such as an observation tower and a small building. Don't miss the gift shop, which offers an amazing array of Seabee memorabilia--from books to bumper stickers. If you're interested, you can pick up an application to "buy a brick," with your Seabee's name and other info, and have it placed in the brick-paved walkway leading to the main entrance of the museum. There's also a computer to help you locate a particular brick in the sidewalk. This museum is definitely worth a visit.

The U. S. Navy Construction Battalion (SeaBees) Museum that has been at Pt. Hueneme for years has moved into a great new location. From the old, real Quonset huts, to a modern building that actually looks like it was built from Quonset huts! Great place to visit if you are in the Oxnard area.

WW2 relics and more recent. See what SeaBee's do and have done. A lot of money was put in this place for your information and pleasure. Just Go!

I overestimated how long it would take me to get to an appointment in Port Hueneme, so as a consequence had time to kill. So I dropped in here. Great little museum! I learned a lot about these unsung heroes of the U.S. Navy.

This is nice museum if you a history buff. My son, who is interested in joining the Navy, found the exhibits fascinating.

This is a nice place to visit and learn more about the Seabee tradition! I am especially interested because of our family's military ties, but this is an informative and educational place to visit.

We are staying on base in the RV park for the 4th of July & decided to walk over to the museum after many stays on this facility. The new museum building is fairly new and it provides a comprehensive and interesting education on the history of the Navy Seabees. The volunteers are all extremely helpful and well informed. We really enjoyed learning how they got their name and the integral part they played in every aspect of our military from WW II to now.....access is not restricted, no military ID needed, enjoy!!!!

This is a tiny museum in Port Hueneme featuring the history and accomplishments of the Naval Construction Co known as the Seabees and the Civil Engineer Corps of the US Navy. There are a lot of artifacts on display including the Humvee and artillery that were used during that time. Don't forget to grab some souvenirs in the gift shop inside the building. It is worth visiting and don't miss it if you are in the area. The best part is that there is no admission fee!

I enjoyed my visit. The museum featured historical displays, artifacts, and arts and crafts made by servicemen. There are also exhibits pertaining to what is happening right now in different places around the world. Although some people have less interest in military history, the museum captures American history and is a good place to visit.

This is a very nice and newer museum of Seabee history. It seems that a portion of it is under development but overall we enjoyed the tour after our Son graduated as a new Seabee! Don't miss the gift shop.

Great place to teach the little one the history of our Seabee's, Lots to see and with all the old Navy uniforms takes me back when I was in the Navy back in the early 60's

Family history prompted me to visit this museum and I wasn't disappointed. It is located outside the base so there is no need for a pass or sponsor and it is free. The museum is nicely done with educational films, displays, pictures of the Seabee life and contributions to our country. It looks as if they are in the process of expanding the museum and will have more displays to offer in the future. They have a nice gift shop that offers many items at very reasonable prices.Worth the visit and history lesson.

With a fabulous beach and hotels nearby, the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum is a can't miss attraction. Learn about a courageous and under-sung branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and see some terrific displays. Then continue down Ventura Rd, where it terminates at expansive Hueneme Beach and Pier. This is also host site for the Alaska Airline Flight 261 Memorial. This is fun for the all ages
