A beautiful drive down Highway 1 on Valentine's Day, stopped at Pie Ranch. Purchased a Lemon Buttermilk Pie, delicious.

This was a beautiful discovery and great little stop on the way home from Santa Cruz. We of course got some pie but they had a great arrangement of fresh fruit and veggies we brought home as well.

Come and meander through the eclectic collection inside and outside the barn and follow the path all the way to the barn and their garden. We also stopped to check out their livestock and watched the goats chew their way through the grass. The whole place is so beautiful and its a non profit that supports local kids - teaching them where their food is from. After meandirng through we stopped for their walnut pie! If I had a choice I would have had two mini pies ! We didn't go wrong ! Sat there and slowly ate the walnuts and then the crust last! Yummy ! Coffee is also offered and donate for the cup you're enjoying. Bathroom facilities is a portapotty.

Pie Ranch is a roadside attraction with an indoor farm stand, pies and monthly hoedowns.We were driving up to Half Moon Bay, saw the sign and decided to stop. It's a wonderful place to buy fresh produce, eggs and pies. An old farm building houses the creative displays of produce. There's even a little area with toys for kids to play with while their parents shop for strawberry-rhubarb pie and summer squash.Pie Ranch is a socially conscious org that supports sustainable farming. They have a youth program and farmer training. Once a month they host a work day where you can show up to work the fields and then stay for an old-fashioned potluck/hoe down with live country music. I always wanted to stop at Pie Ranch when I was driving along Hwy 1 in between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. However, I never made it until two weeks ago.I definitely should have stopped here earlier since their pies are great and you really can taste the fresh and organic ingredients.Besides pies, the farm stand/store sells fresh produce from their farm and merchandise.You can enjoy the pie at their picnic area or order it as take out.Come early for the biggest selection towards the afternoon the pie slices sell out as do the whole pies.Pie slices: from $6, whole pies from $23
