I decided to take my girlfriend skydiving for her birthday but not before asking if she'd be okay with that lol! All phone interactions were quite pleasant very well spoken! This made it pretty easy to not feel apprehensive about the place I had chosen to do a tandem skydive with. Dakota was my dive instructor, he was very professional throughout the jump experience! I must say I cannot explain the experience in just one review but if you feel like taking the jump don't be hesitant! Safety is present at all times I never felt unsafe even when I had left the plane haha. Breathtaking views and for you adrenaline junkies ohhhhh baby hang on!!!!!

Charlie was very accommodating with our desire to see something attractive and green. The plane was narrow so it is a tight fit for two but possible. Be sure to bring your camera and wear sunglasses !

Having completed the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course at Skydive Hollister, I highly recommend the drop zone for anybody interested in learning skydiving in a supportive, professional and fun environment. The Hollister crew is highly experienced and instructors have thousands of jumps under their belts, yet somehow they have maintained complete enthusiasm for their jobs and are out to have fun, while educating students in best practices.I was looking for a drop zone, where I could find a team of highly motivated people, who love their profession and are willing to make me a part of their family. I felt this was essential to provide the best environment for learning skydiving basics and developing skills sets rooted in safety. Skydive Hollister delivered beyond expectations :) I finished all seven jumps of the AFF course in one weekend, just as I had hoped. My instructor Baxter was extremely professional and made me feel very comfortable throughout the course. Mako, who runs the drop zone, also instructed/jumped with me and I enjoyed learning from experienced skydivers, who were also great teachers. The AFF course is a lot of material to absorb in one weekend and these guys helped me through it all and made it fun! I’ll be forever grateful :)I loved Skydive Hollister so much, that I made 25 skydives within three weekends; can’t wait to go back after Xmas holidays. Come and say hi, when you see me!

The ppl were great and the price was good (I used a Groupon). The only downfall is that the view from skydiving in Hollister is not as beautiful as skydiving in a place like San Diego. If you like skydiving, I still recommend it.

The current owners bought the business & airplane a few years back. At times the phone is not answered, other times it is.Staff at the airport state that they have not been making payments to the old owners on the aircraft or business. They said that some repo guys were snooping around the aircraft a few months back. Not sure I'd go skydiving or be too confident of the aircraft or 'chutes when a firm is having money troubles. Firms always begin to skimp on something when money gets tight.

The receptionist department here at this little town of Hollister definitely should, without a doubt, provide trainings for their employees to become better in their organization skills, as well as their communication skills. With all the past reviews I read and experienced I had at this place today, was not a mistake. Therefore, LADY BOSS should take this to the next level. I would (after reading all the reviews about this place) take this to the next level, If I was LADY BOSS. But I am not. :( However, my main goal here is to rate mostly the person who works directly with me. My skydiving instructor, Ian and my video/photographer Jen. If I could rate them alone on here, they would most definitely get 5 stars from me. Jen had captured some amazing photos of me and I love that. Ian made me feel comfortable as a first time jumper by reassuring me and teaching me all the quick tips. :)For being knowledgeable and informative in such a short period of time, makes them an amazing talented individual. And that's something that is very important to me as a new skydiver. So thank you again for the excellent service!Jumping off the plane is one of the most craziest, insane, and daring thing one could do. Today, I had ventured out to experienced the thrill of my life and discovered that skydiving can be nerve-wracking at times. However, after I jumped out of that plane, my mind forgets all about the worrisome, stress, problems, challenges, and obstacles I had. Yes! It was definitely a stress reliever for me. And to be able to see how beautiful our world looks from the horizons, while free falling from10k Ft above the sky, makes it an unforgettable experience for a life time!

I turned 50 last year and decided to try one new thing each month of the year. This was "new thing" for April and BY FAR the best thing I did all year. We had been advised to choose Hollister over Lodi by SEVERAL people who jump regularly and in the military. They based their opinions on both safety records and the view we would enjoy. I jumped with my father and we both used a Groupon. We were told when we made the reservation our cost would go up if we did a higher jump. We did it anyway. I decided to do the video/photo thing and paid extra. It was well worth it, the shots are amazing. I think I was out the door for about 190-? After reading these posts, I remembered that we waited a long time as well. It totally turned into an all day affair, then we had great Mexican food in Hollister, so it worked out well. However, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They let us wander around the shop, we met lots of staff, learned how to pack a parachute and relaxed at the picnic table out front. We were on the last jump of the day so lots of staff joined us. My tandem partner, Cari, was very helpful and lots of fun. I can see how these people get addicted to the high-First an amazing rush, then the peaceful descent. If I had pots of money and nothing but time, I'd do this EVERY SINGLE DAY! And I'd have no problem going back to Skydive Hollister, we thought it was great.

I did a tandem jump here a while back. Would never go here again. Admittedly the jump itself was a blast--what a rush! But this operation is one to avoid.Despite assurances on the Groupon site by the company owner (Mako) they didn't truly honor the Groupon purchase. Sure, we got "credit" for it, but we were forced to upgrade (for a fee) to the 15,000 foot jump even though we had been assured that we could jump the 10,000 Groupon on weekends. The owner & another staff member promised that the 10,000 foot jumps would be available on weekends then refused to honor that promise. We shelled out an additional $100 for the video & stills, which honestly were crap. I could have had just as good results if I had strapped a camera to my own hand. It seems to really be hit & miss with the video people - some do great work, others are crap. But they charge the same amount & you have no choice in which video person you get.Our reservation was at 10am. Numerous times we were told we'd be on the "next load" but that also turned out to be a lie. We were bumped out of the lineup several times by walk-in solo jumpers. By the time we actually got to jump, it was close to 5pm! A 7 HOUR WAIT TIME! Should be noted that Joe G (office manager) swore up & down on the Groupon discussion that 4 hour wait times were rare & 5 hours "never happen." One look at these Yelp reviews reveals that to be another lie. After being repeatedly told how "safe" Skydive Hollister is, about a week after our skydive we were made aware that they are currently being sued over a fatal accident there. According to the lawsuit, they actively lied about their safety record and actually had some other previous fatalities that they claimed never happened. The lawsuit also alledges that employees are known to drink alcohol & use drugs while doing their jobs. About a month ago they had another fatality. The girl who died was an employee of Skydive Hollister, filming a tandem jump, and apparently had less than 1/3 the required # of jumps to be doing that. Iow, Skydive Hollister had someone doing a job she was grossly underqualified for & she ended up dying!

I went skydiving at Hollister Skydiving on my birthday this year, and it was a wonderful blast. Like most first time sky diver, I was nervous and excited at the same time. But the experience turned out to be thrillingly enjoyable and much less scary that I anticipated. Once you got up that high (in my case, 15,000 feet), you couldn’t really see anything clearly from the ground, so just forget all the fears and imagine yourself jumping in the ocean or a big pool. You’d have like 5 seconds of “roller coaster” drop feeling once you jump off the plane, but the rest of the free falling (about 1 minute) gave you a peaceful floating feeling. The instructors were pretty laid back but would also make sure that you’d relax enough to enjoy the experience. I highly recommend getting the video/ picture service as my photographer did an extremely good job with it. What I got were a 7-8 minutes video clip (with music of your choice) to show off to everyone, and another hundred of pictures to keep the memories forever. It was definitely the place for first time sky diver, and I’m pretty sure that after the first jump, you would, just like me, feel great about the whole experience and seek out for the next adventure.

A group of 30 went on a Saturday, scheduled to jump at noon. When we booked, we were told that our group was the last scheduled for the day, and we would be able to jump as many times as we like, and had the plane until 7 pm. We arrived at 11 am, and filled out the needed paperwork, and was told we would be broken up into groups of five, and asked if we would like to purchase the video/pic package for and extra $99. I declined but many others in our group did, and seemed to feel like they got their money's worth. The woman working the counter, not sure of her name, but she had dark hair and was pregnant, was not freindly at all, and seemed annoyed when ever we wsked a question. I was in the first group to jump, and was told at noon to stand by, we would be in the next plane load. That was not the case, and in fact, did not get into the plane till after 2pm. Our group of 30 was not kept in the next plane rotation. It seemed that "walk-ins" would come in, and be put ahead of us. At 5 pm, the majority of our group still had not jumped, and when we began to complain, were told that several instructors had called in sick, so they were back up. Reading other reviews, it seems that this is their standard reply to long waits. At 6 pm, we were told that there was a possibility, that 2 people in our group might not be able to jump because of time restraints, even though other people were arriving, and being put on planes within an hour. All in our group did get to jump, the last group going around 7:30pm, and 8 1/2 hour wait, with absolutely not aplology given to us.My jump was excellent. I had "Mako "as an instructor. He was very freindly and took time to explain everything, and made me feel like he was excited about the jump. My friend's instructor was "The German", he was almost the exact opposite of Mako. He seemed bored with the whole thing, and gave very little instruction, or conversation. Our jumps were tandums at 15,000 ft. The free fall lasted about 60 secs, and was by far the most insane thing I've ever done. I liked it a lot, but I think once is probably enough, and have no real interest in doing it again, especially at there. Their poor customer service kind of ruined what would have been a great day.

So I made a reservation for 5 ppl over a week ago for 11 am for my friends bday, for all of us to go skydiving. I asked at the time I made the reservation if we could all go together. They said yes it would not be a problem. We get there early, at 10:15 and they say they can probably get us in early but they are not sure they can take us all together because they do not have enough instructors. Wow, that would have been nice to know before we made the trip down and gathered up about $200 per person. But, ok fine, we'll work with it. They tell us to come back around 11:30. We went to the diner right next door and came back in an hour. They then told us to come back in another hour. we go back and it is now 12:30. They tell us we in fact can not all go on together and that we needed to come back in another hour!!!! We get back at 1:30 waited around untill 2:30 when they finally took 3 of us. So two of us were STILL waiting at 3:00 pm when a worker there says "you will be on the 3rd flight out from now." We thought they were joking. We were suppose to go out right after our friends. The front desk personnel were so rude about it all. Not being apologetic or even professional. I asked why people who came after us had already gone out and came back and we had not even suited up yet. They informed us that there was not 5 of them. Well that didn't matter because we weren't all going up together anyways. LONG story short - got in the air at 3:30. a little over 5 hours after we'd gotten there and 4 1/2 hours after our reservation. The skydive guys who took us were cool, but the 5 hours before that and the front desk were HORRIBLE. I was very disapointed and would not recommend this place to anyone. Not only did I pay $179.00, I also had to wait around for 5 hours. My time is worth more than that. I will never go back and I advise you to pick another skydive location- monterey is close and I hear service there is great. This place needs organization and people skills. Hope this helps you choose where to go for you skydiving trip!
