dublin heritage park & museums

There three main parts of this complex:1. Museums. Frankly, I've been to this place probably a dozen times and never seen them open. The schedule is not really visitor friendly.2. The park. There is some open space and some old small structures. The problem is it's all really close to a major freeway and the area is very noisy, so it's not a place where you'd lay on the grass and relax or enjoy a picnic. 3. The old cemetery. It's small, always open and this is actually the most fascinating part of the complex. If you've been around for some time and became familiar with the names of the local streets and landmarks - it's amazing to find who some of them are named after. You can pretty much trace the history of the town from the very first settlers to the modern days by matching the family graves against local map. Overall, this is not the most visited place in the area.

This a wonderful little park with a couple of preserved buildings (including a church and school). It's a very casual atmosphere. Our kids love the barn and the museum. I personally loved the old cemetery with lots of signs which detail the life and contributions of the person buried in that plot. If you are a resident of Dublin, Pleasanton or San Ramon, you will recognize a lot of the names on the gravestones. One confusing fact: the picture highlighted in Trip advisor (the building with the dome) is not from the park. It was very confusing because we were looking for that dome when trying to find the park. All in all, a wonderful experience. We will definitely visit this park again.

Nice place to walk around and enjoy all the old buildings and barns. Be sure to check out the old school house which is also a museum.

Love the cemetery. Very creepy looking but lovely to walk through. They've got some awesome buildings and barn. They're not open very often but worth taking the little ones too and going to a special event.

Neat place to look around & see what the history of this area is. Interesting walking through the pioneer cemetery too & reading all the signs about who these people were & how they contributed to the area & world.
