Admittedly we visited over Christmas and the lights may not always be there but it looked magical as the daylight dimmed. We had gone to visit The Blackhawk Automotive Museum and were very pleasantly surprised by what we found. Unfortunately, not all of the shops were open after we had visited the Museum but we had a meander through the shopping centre anyway.

This shopping center has some good stores like Draeger's Grocery store - a higher end grocery store with lots of good food and kitchen wear. There are restaurants and cafes for both patio and inside dining. There is the Superlative Blackhawk Automobile Museum. There is a good men's clothing store Patrick James and Anthropologie for women. The shopping center is pretty with its many water falls, water areas, ducks, and sculptures. Why I say its perfect for kids and mom and dads is:While I was there on a warm fall Wednesday, there were a lot of parents (many moms but some dads too and probably some nannies too) with their children1) There is a playground for the children with nearby comfortable seats. 2) There is a wide variety of seating including comfortable deluxe couches, tables, and more.3) There are many fountains and ponds with lots of duck. Kids, dogs, and adults love to watch them.4) There is a higher end toy store and book store.5) There are fun sculptures.6) There is also schools for kids here such as Blackhawk Montessori.7) There are restaurants - most with patio seating. One can also get take out and enjoy it outside. I saw 3 moms and their children enjoying a couple of pizzas and drinks out doors. Some of the cafes are "dog friendly" also.8) Across the parking lot, there is also a Century movie theater. While there are limited stores, Blackhawk Plaza seems to have a loyal following of local families who enjoy going there.

normal plaza nothing special about it other than the water fountain in the middle of it, I wouldn't there if I had nothing else to do during my business trip nearby

I went to an event at Blackhawk museum but I was pleasantly surprised that it was around this plaza, the lake by the stores and restaurant and the beautiful waterfall makes it seem like you are taking a walk somewhere special. At night I loved the stringed lights that change the ambiance to a romantic or just fun area to be at.

If you are looking for a great book for this age group 9 month to 2 years old. Counting Smiley Faces by Pami L. Wahl Go to your local bookstore ask them to order it from Trafford publishing. Go to their bookstore section. Hope to see it in your bookstore.

Walk around the plaza on a warm summer evening. Food is good at every restaurant and shopping is fun at Anthropology, Apricot Lane and Francesca's. Get a relaxing Mani/Pedi at Polished Nail Bar. Please help keep the shops in business by buying something!

The Blackhawk Plaza has some very good restaurants a few with great options for outdoor dining on a nice day. They have very good seasonal events - concerts on Fridays in the summer and Halloween, Santa, Easter Bunny. Play area for kids and a couple of good museums. Nice water features with ducks and swans, you can buy food to feed the birds, great for the kids. Best restaurant = Blackhawk Grill. Best Bar - Outdoors = Blue Ginko Indoors = Fieldhouse

This is basically a small upscale street mall built around a small pond. When you go there for the first time, you definite notice the quiet court yard with the pond full of fish and birds and the pretty buildings around filled with restaurants and shops. So the first reaction is - it would be so wonderful to come back friends with friends and family and have a good time, but that doesn't always work that way. Here are some of the "buts":1. It's tempting to bring kids in, but this place is not really a park. There are no play grounds or even lawn around the water and they are not welcomed to go into the water. 2. Shopping. The stores are not meant for every day purchases. They are mostly boutiques and other things which are supposed to add some glitter and sparkles to your life if you can afford it.3. Restaurants. This is a fairly small place, so the restaurants there don't live off the volume and they are quite expensive.Overall, if you have above average disposable income and above average amount of free time, it could be a good place to burn through them, but for the most visitors it ends up being just another window shopping area.

I've lived next door to this plaza since 1993 and it's such a beautiful setting. It's a shame the landlords have squeezed a lot of the tenants out, pure greed! There really isn't one restaurant (in my opinion) you can get something decent to eat that also isn't WAY overpriced. No quality or quantity. They've further ruined the quiet beauty of the place by sticking a kids jungle gym right next to the beautiful (formerly quiet) pond. The poor ducks are now being tortured by screaming, unruly kids. No one in this "upscale" place makes their kids behave or respect property.I weep for the future.

Love the sounds of the waterfalls, great place to relax and hang out. They have concerts and events for kids. Check out the toy store too.

Great place to stroll for browsing. Terrific store in Draegers super market. Weekend concert in the open center area. Good restaurant dining and lovely water landscaping design interior.

What a well kept secret hideaway for the rich and famous this place is....The Blackhawk Centre at Danville is a must see. Not for the shopping as much as just the scenery, the ducks, turtles, fish, waterfalls and stream that runs between this outdoor high end stores is worth the sightseeing alone. There was a plastic surgery clinic beside a high end boutique, the ultimate childrens fairy princess Salon for girls under 13 to have their hair and nails done, or birthday parties. You can feed the ducks, admire the beautiful scenery and beautiful people. I would say to dress up to walk around there. Even the children were perfectly polished and their outfits looked like the costs of my wardrobe....Yikes. But it's a little world in itself. I don't really know how it stays open, it is not a busy centre, so perhaps people just open boutiques and places for hobbies and not to make more money? It is surreal.

Our two little ones were so fascinated with the ducks, that we made two trips. Enough choices of restaurants that allow you to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance.

WEnt to Blackhawk Grill. Beautiful venue looking out at waterfalls and ducks. Overall the Plaza is an overbuilt shopping mall for the affluent community of Blackhawk. The stores keep changing because there is not enough foot traffic to maintain a business. Draegers Market is very upscale. Restaurants come and go since this is located in an out of the way area. Worth a visit and dinner at the grill for a special occasion.

Yesterday my friend & I visited Blackhawk Plaza for the first time, recommended by a friend of ours, I already fell in love with pictures found from Google Images, being loving to take pictures, it seemed to be an ideal place to spend one Saturday morning since we live over an hour drive away from there. Those pictures that I saw didn't do justice to the beautiful pond and peace it brought me when I glanced at those coloful ducks (mallard birds) swimming along the pond. Yesterday it wasn't sunny, but it was perfect weather to take pictures. I had fun taking pictures and strolled by the pond. I won't mind going back there given the opportunity.
