Over thirty miles of great trail for riders of all skill levels. You can't wear too much protection. Full face helmet, elbow and knee p.ads are a must. A Leatt neck brace is highly recommended. The are no soft landings.
Allmountain Bikes is an awesome store to rent bikes, high quality bikes, great crew. Trails well marked. Take lots of water. We did the Caldrun side.
The best bike tails in the US. Wear body armor, they are beyond challenging. Bring a camera to take home the views!
I love mountain biking, and I rode the cross country trails here that were rated blue squares (kind of similar to ski trails rating---that means blue=intermediate), the trail I rode was considered 5 out of 10 on the hardness level. From my experience, these trails may be a bit more technical then what you are used to, with lots of rock outcroppings, I even had to get off of my bike and walk over a few sections (maybe 10 feet each of walk-a-bike). I just moved to Las Vegas, and will continue to ride here. If you are into downhill trails, there is amazing super gnar gnar downhill trails here that look epic, I would say are a must-do if you are in the area. I would recommend checking out bootlegcanyon.net for a map of the trails here, also there is a great shop in the area that you can rent bikes from, All Mountain Cyclery (Boulder City) (I have not used them, but I spoke to them on the phone and they seem nice, I also think they run shuttles to top if you just want to do the downhill)--they also can you more information about the trails.A Few more things, I do not recommend going here alone if you are not an avid rider. As always make sure you have a spare tube (or 2), patch kit, air pump, tire leavers, and bring plenty of water. Some of the CC trails meander through the canyon, and it looks like a few connect to outside of the canyon and do some looping around. Have fun and be safe.
