This really is a unique water park. Launching into the 4 larger slides out the exit doors of a rooftop 747 is an experience you really can't get anywhere else. Even the line to the slides (which is usually short) offers great views of the surrounding museum grounds and Willamette Valley once you get above roof level.In addition to the main slides, there is the water-play area with a bucket that dumps on a regular basis, and a very nice, very large wave pool.One of the best things about the park is the educational component. The attractions are set up as learning experiences too, and there is a separate area (OK to visit while wet) within the park that is like a hands-on museum about water and space. A jumbotron screen behind the wave pool gives science information while you play in the waves.The cost is unfortunate. I frankly don't know how the park maintains the volume of people to support the (what must be considerable) costs to run the park. I suspect that is one of the reasons for the high cost.I would not say the long-term future of the park is assured, so if you're thinking about going, you may want to while it's still open!

All four waterslides were really fun. On your way up the stairs to access the waterslides, they had facts and videos playing of how they built the park and got the huge 747 jet on the roof. It was really neat to see all that went into making this concept a reality and also passed the long wait time as you waited for your turn on the slides. Actually getting to see the shell of the 747 and seeing how the waterslides were built into the plane was really interesting. The day we happened to be there, the lines were long (15 - 25 minute wait) to go down one slide so I only got to do each slide twice. I was kind of bummed but that is just the nature of going to a waterpark during prime time on a Saturday. I really enjoyed the whole "science" aspect of the park setting it apart from other waterparks. It was fun to sit in the wave pool and see interesting facts about water flash by on the huge video screen. A couple of tips: Bring your own towels. Also don't forget the shampoo and conditioner. If you do forget it, they do sell travel size bottles. There are soap dispensers in the showers though. In addition to the admission fee you have to pay to rent a locker which cost anywhere from $5 - $7 depending on the size. Parking outside of the park is plentiful and free. I thought the price of admission was a little steep ($32 per adult) but it is a really good time and a unique experience.

We finally had the chance to visit this waterpark. We took our son, age 10 and his friend, age 11 for a birthday celebration.You can save $5 per person on admission with a AAA membership or museum membership.Our cost was $108 for 2 adults and 2 children plus $14 for 2 large locker rentals (They were not very large - max 2 backpacks per locker).Be sure to bring a towels and anything else to shower and clean-up (only liquid soap is provided). There are a few hairdryers. There are also a few family changing rooms.We went late on a Saturday afternoon (3 PM on February 28). It didn't feel very crowded, yet the wave pool was full, lockers and changing rooms felt full, and the slides had a short line. The GREEN slide had the slowest line. It wasn't very long, but look a solid 15+ minutes. The other slides (Blue and Yellow) has a 5+ minute wait and the Orange slide (no inner tube) had the shortest line. The Orange tube has many restrictions (no metal on swim suit and no swim shirt allowed). Both my husband and son complained that the Orange slide was rather rough and scratched up their back and arms.It is very difficult to stay together. Our children were old enough to explore on their own, but this would have been stressful with younger children. The boys especially loved the interactive water museum on the second level.As an adult, I am not likely to return to Wings and Waves, but I am glad I went once. I would certainly send my son again.We went to Babica Hen in Dundee for dinner afterwards, This was a great place for a more upscale burger and glass of wine.

We arrived as soon as it opened on a Sunday we were tired by noon. We had a blast all the stairs gave us all a needed work out. We had a great time and we visit again soon

We've been to Great Wolf Lodge in Washington, and Raptor Reef and Silver Rapids, both in Idaho. Wings and Waves Waterpark was my favorite. It has the fastest body slide out of all of those parks, and the fastest toilet bowl slide (Great Wolf Lodge's tornado slide is a bit faster, but it's not a toilet bowl slide, which I think is more fun). The other two big slides (4 total) are also fun enough to wait in line for. But the body slide (Mach 1) and the toilet bowl slide (Nose Dive) are the 2 fastest and therefore (I think) the most fun. There is also a great kiddie play area with 3 slides, 2 of which are actually pretty fast even though they're pretty short. Probably our favorite part was the wave pool. Good size, but mostly some of the wave cycles were the most powerful I've seen in a pool. We were doing 30 to 40 foot body surfing rides. Tons of fun. The place has a nice big hot tub, too. Water seemed very clean and relatively low on chlorine because they also use a bit of salt (you can taste it a bit). Also all the water is pretty warm, except for the vortex pool and pool where the basketball hoops are. They're not cold, it's just that the wave pool and slide water are so warm those other pools feel cooler, though you can get used to them pretty quickly. The changing areas were nice, big, and clean. The café served decent food, which is saying something coming from me (I'm one of those organic shoppers). We spent 6 hours there including an hour for lunch and digestion. Money well spent. We stayed just down the street at the Comfort Inn, only 5 minutes away. Oh, the best part is we went on a Friday and the place was practically empty. We got there when it opened and only 12 of us went in. Even throughout the day we never waited in line at the toilet bowl slide for more than a few minutes, and most of the time there weren't any lines for the slides and the wave pool wasn't even close to crowded.

This was so well worth the trip (it's about an hour south of Portland)! Wave pool, small spray park, small pool with a vortex area that was fun to drift in, big waterslides that you access from inside of an old 747 jet and a children's play area with 2 small waterslides (that are still fun no matter how old you are) and a big bucket that periodically drenches the whole area making everyone shriek with excitement. We took our three kids - 4, 2 and 3 months old. The older two had a fantastic time and the water was warm enough in all areas for the baby to be comfortable. I wish they were closer to where we live because I would take the kids often.

I have actually never been there because it is too damn expensive to go. I would like to take my grandkids there but they even charge people just to watch their kids play in the water. This is a waterpark not Disneyland. How about giving people a break on the price, especially the locals?

This water park has a lot to offer. Multiple slides coming out of a 747, various pools for all ages, food, and a water play science area (where my 3yo wanted to just play all day). Fun place for a visit and be sure to go to the aviation and space museum on the grounds as well.

My sons are 14 and 12 years old and were ready to leave the Waterpark after a few hours. There weren't enough high energy slides to keep them entertained for much longer than that. It's pretty pricey to get in, so I'm not sure it was worth the cost, but if you have younger kids, they might really enjoy it.

We came through McMinnville in 2011, and didn't know about the waterpark, so didn't have bathers with us. But a water slide out of a 747, how can you miss that?This time, we came prepared. It was awesome. Got there at opening time on a saturday, and got to do all the slides several times, with short lineups. Really cool.Although, in summer, I felt it was a bit warm inside. But in winter it would probably be nice. I also thought the inclusion of a copy of the ten commandments on one of the walls was a little weird, but it's a privately owned facility, and they can do whatever they want. (Well, privately owned, but started by Evergreen, who was started with funds from the CIA.. but that's another story)Loved all the slides, and the spa and the vortex pool and the wave pool and the dump bucket. Awesome fun.

I was a skeptic but everyone wanted to go so I agreed. The facility seems clean and well staffed. We did not use the changing rooms or the dining facilities so can't speak to those, but the water activities were fun and enjoyed by all. Lots of stairs to reach the 4 large water slides. Go early to beat the crowds, as lines got longer as the day went on.

We have lived a short 10 minute walk down the road from this waterpark for the last 2 years. We have been once due to the price of $30 per head. Who can afford this?!The showers were NOT clean. The staff acted like they wanted to be anywhere BUT there. If I am going to pay $30 for one person I demand superior customer service. Not "whatever. Go bother someone else". We will not go back. We will let the tourist's line their pockets.

It was cool for a watermark to have a 747 as the starting point for the slides but the long waiting lines were a disappointment and prevented us from using the slides as many times as we would have liked for the price of $31 a person.

The price of admission is very expensive. Just to watch your kids cost you. Not something you could do all the time.

I have been to a lot of waterparks and this one was pretty cool. Sliding out of a 747 on 4 different slides is something that you soon wont forget. Great service and a lot of fun.
