i was recently in the Applegate area, indulging in the wine and beauty and food of the area. And I had notices that there was a spot tucked away (not that far) called Lavender Fields Forever. Off I went and I was delighted to find this wonderful little farm tucked away. I spent several excellent hours visiting with the owners, John and Bonnie. Chatting about the farm, the varieties of lavender....many to choose from, the wonderful products they offer in the gift shop and life in general. John was demonstration the process of distilling the lavender oil which I also found fascinating. A great visit and I hope you will look them up when next in the valley. I plan on dropping in again when next I can.
While visiting friends in the Ashland, Oregon area recently, my wife and I were going to do a little wine tasting. Our friends had a bottle of lavender oil and I sprayed a little on my arm and rubbed it in and it felt very soothing and the aroma was most delightful. Our friends informed us that the area where the wineries were at is in the same area as the lavender distillery was and suggested we stop by. We did so and were pleasantly surprised. It was a little difficult to find, but we did find it alright. We were greeted by John and Bonnie and our education about lavender began. Both John and Bonnie were very knowledgeable about lavender from the planting all the way to the bottling. They started at the lavender fields and explained why the plants were planted the way they were, the hanging of the plants, the distilling, and the bottling. It was fascinating and I could tell they enjoyed showing it. My wife and I found it most interesting and fun. They also have the largest Walnut tree that I have ever seen on the property. It was worth the visit and the product is most delightful.Tony and LuanaBellingham, Washington
