Longsword Vineyard is one of the hidden gems of the Applegate Valley. The tiny tasting room is located along scenic Highway 238. Upon entering the gravel driveway, you proceed past rows of beautiful organically-grown grapevines, naturally weeded by the resident geese and Baby Doll sheep. The small tasting room is homey and welcoming, and you can choose to sit inside, or enjoy a table on the patio with a spectacular view of the valley (and in the summer time, you can watch the hangliders and paragliders land in the field next to the tasting room!). The winemaker, Matt, produces the best bubbles in the valley: his famous "Accolade" sparkling chardonnay. He also makes a lovely Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay, and is currently working on crafting some other unique, small batch wines.Longsword is the perfect place to sit, relax, have a glass of wine, chat with friends, enjoy the view, and appreciate the scenery!
