Hebo Lake Campground is a small lake nestled in the coast range of the state of Oregon. It’s a quiet campground, good for tents and smaller RVs. The lake is supplied with fish and makes for a relaxing fishing experience. It also features a trailhead the follows an old Native America trail to the top of Mt. Hebo.Mt. Hebo is not a mountain of sorts, but a bluff of around 3000 feet, which overlooks valleys snuggled in between Oregon’s coast range. At the start, it features a small arboretum type feeling, with signs posted about native plants, trees, and animals. The trail winds through a 100 year old replanted forest before entering mixed natural Oregon scenery with a pasture that blooms wild flowers in the spring. Eventually it comes back down to two other small lakes, North Lake and South Lake, which aren’t as maintained as Hebo Lake. If you want to hike to the summit of Mt. Hebo, make sure you do it on a clear day. Otherwise the view may be compromised. But, if you just a short walk in an Oregon forest while, the trail is perfect. The campground is perfect for those who are camping up and down Oregon’s coast. It’s 5 miles above Hebo Oregon which is right on Highway 101.
