We stopped here on the recommendation of our hotel staff because some of our group wanted to go to a winery on our way home. This was a very enjoyable stop for us even though we don't drink. The olive oil sampling was interesting and the orange flavored was really tasty. Lots of interesting cooking and gardening gifts for sale; although pricey. We had a beautiful, clear day so the views from their hilltop were amazing. Looking forward to another visit here when more things are in bloom. The wine drinkers with us like the wine and brought some home.

While Red Ridge has some good wines at the Durrant Vineyards, the real treat is the Olive Oil tasting. The farm has an olive mill and has tours for its Olivio Nuevo Festival in early November each year. I do not know if they have tours otherwise but its worth asking about. Its quite interesting to learn about how olive oil is made. Its 15 minutes from Salem and a nice contrast to wine tasting around its area. Dayton is also worth a short visit.

This is a great stop on your wine tour to shop and get some great items. The olive oil is a must to buy.

The Durant Vineyards has a friendly staff able to give information about the wine and vineyard. The inside tasting room is nice ,but the real view is the outside is outside on the patio. The Wine was tasty and afford able. I would recommend.

Taking a break from wine tasting we stopped in at Red Ridge Farms to visit their gardens and sample olive oils (note: the farm also has an adjoining winery). The place is a bit small and was quite busy when we visited. About 7 olive oils were available for tasting. A range of olive oil products was also available along with lavender and honey. Worth a stop but would recommend you do so before tasting wines to fully enjoy olive oils.

As we were driving to a winery, we noticed a sign for olive oil tasting and thought how interesting that would be; a nice touch to add to wine touring. The gift shop where the olive oil tasting bar is located is full of interesting items. We enjoyed learning about the olive growing at the farm and we were able to take a walk to view the olive trees. We enjoyed the welcome attitude of the staff and the information they provided. We spent more time at Red Ridge Farms than planned, but learned new facts and enjoyed beautiful views and landscape.

Lots of things to see in the plant nursery, good olive oil tasting table and interesting garden art. Bit of a drive up the hill, but a nice stop.

We had visited several wineries and were looking for something different. Red Ridge Farms grows and makes olive oil and other products. They have a wonderful nursery and gift shop. The olive oils are delicious, you can taste them all. They also have local honey which is great (the Meadowfoam is wonderful!). They also grow lavender and it is just a very pleasant restful place to visit!

Nobody ever thought that the same soil that produces some of the finest pinot noirs in the world could also be responsible for some really good olive oil. The Oregon Olive Mill at Red Ridge Farms in Dayton, OR -- about 25 miles south of of Portland, OR -- has disbelievers eating crow. The oils -- Arbequina, Koroneiki and Tuscan -- have, as their names suggest, their origins in Spain, Greece and Italy. The subtle nuances of the different varieties can be savored at the on-site store, or you can arrange a private tour of the facility with or without food pairings. You might want to wash the olive oil down with a bottle of chardonnay or pinot noir produced on the same property in a setting that can best be described as breathtaking. Few other places in the now-famous Oregon wine country offer quite the variety as Red Ridge Farms. Looking for a new plant for your garden? Stroll the paths in the nursery for some unusual species. Dwell on visions of Provence amidst the lavender fields. This is no ordinary place. It's almost magical.

My husband and I stayed at the apartment on Red Ridge Farms for seven nights while exploring the surrounding wine country this past October. The apartment was beautiful, well furnished, and in the perfect location for exploring the heart of the Willamette Valley! Truthfully, the views from the apartment were so spectacular that it was hard to get moving some mornings--all we wanted to do was stand and gaze out. Red Ridge Farms is the site of Durant Vineyards and the Oregon Olive Oil Mill--both family run, and totally accessible to the apartment. Everyone we came into contact with, the family or employees, were friendly and more than willing to show us around, or answer questions--to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I HIGHLY recommend this place. They could charge twice as much (but I'm glad they don't) :) If I ever come back to this area, staying here will be a top priority!

This is a great stop for wine tasting and relaxing. Definitely "taste" the olive oils, although spendy they are very good. The view is incredible.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary at the Red Ridge Farms with about 60 close friends and family (beautiful dining room with superb view) and a few weeks later spent a memorable night in the apartment/suite above the store. The beauty and appeal of this vineyard/olive orchard/lavender farm/intriguing nursery/delightful store/tasting room, etc. is quite difficult to capture in words. And then there are the engaging views of vineyards flowing over neighboring hills and out to the horizon. Owners and staff were most accommodating for both the celebration as well as the overnight stay. Our guests were most impressedWe echo all the superlative complements of prior reviews. Ideal for over-night/s base to explore Oregon wine country. MUCH MORE than just a beautiful winery. Reasonable prices for all the beauty and careful attention to myriad of details combine to give Red Ridge an aura of unique restful beauty. Stay a few nights if possible.

My husband and I stayed in the guest suite at Red Ridge Farms for our anniversary and it could not have been more perfect. The room was adorable and very easy to live in (I didn't want to leave). It had all of the amenities you could need, especially for an extended stay. The largest of the two decks has a great view of the area, as well as the olive groves. As we checked out, I nearly demanded we make our reservation for next year. Can't wait to check out the cottage!

If you are doing the wine country tour, this is a nice little place to stop and take a little break from all the enology talk. Walk into the little gift shop and help yourself to the different olive oils that this farm produces. Personally, I was more fascinated by the vinegars they had to offer - you can taste these as well. They had an out-of-this-world passion fruit vinegar that left me day dreaming of all the things I could do with it in my kitchen AND then I saw the price...a whopping 27.00 for a bottle that was maybe about 400 mL? In any case, the gift shop was a tad bit pricey but the experience was a nice one and they have beautiful views all around and a very attentive staff. So stop here when in wine country.

We stayed here, in the apartment over the gift shop for one wonderful night! There is also a cottage for larger groups on the property. The Apartment was perfect, and we had vineyards and Cascade Mountain views for miles.Included in our stay was a free wine tasting. , The owners and staffcould not have been more helpful and friendly. So romantic, clean, well equipped, nicely furnished, and comfortable! We were lucky to be there when the wisteria was in full bloom, and the scents wafted over us!I can't think of a more reasonable price for this amazing wine country overnight experience.Between the olive oil tastings, the wine, the gardens, and the views, the Durants have created a very special place. Highly recommend that you visit (and stay overnight if you can) for a taste of the wine country life. Perfect for couples, families, corporate meetings, weddings, and honeymooners, there is something for everyone here. We'll be back!
