Such creative and delicious jams and syrups. You can taste any/all of them if you like (and free of charge). We came back for a cocktail tasting that featured their products. Cocktails accompanied with appetizers (again free of charge). Owner was friendly and informative. Will definitely be going back. Purchased the following: strawberry prosecco jam; smoked cocktail cherries; Bloody Mary mix; lemon thyme syrup and blueberry lavender syrup. If in Carlton, Oregon don't miss visiting Republic of Jam.

Stopping in Carlton was not really the plan, but it looked attractive.Tasting jam was NEVER the plan, but that says more about the limits of my imagination than about Republic of Jam.They have cornered the market on Pacific berries: there are only 40 bushes. As I understand it, somebody was making new hybrids and crosses about 80 years ago and Pacific berries was one of the results. They gave up and only 40 bushes of the Pacific berry survived. Republic of Jam gets the whole crop and makes jam. And wins prizes.These people have suppliers of great berries and lots of imagination. I asked if they do lots of tests to find the right blends; apparently they do not. It just works.There are lots of imaginative flavour combinations to make jams you did not even know you were missing. The people happily talk about the combinations, how they make the jams on location and let you sample jams to your heart’s content. My heart was contented.

This most creative jam ever- pear with rosemary and Pinot Grigio, marrionberry with espresso, rhubarb with ginger.All of the jams had a lot of fruit and were not too sweet.The sales lady was very gracious and let me taste as many as I wanted.The price seemed very reasonable for such a high quality product, and shipping was fair.

We originally met a representative of this shop at a winery event and were intrigued. We sought out the shop on Main Street in Carlton and fell in love! The shop is adorable and the folks are friendly, always willing to let you try the jams. They have jam, culinary syrups, mustards, preserved lemons and limes, pickled fruit and a couple times a year hold fun events! A must see in Carlton and welcome break from wine tasting!

Lots of interesting flavors and friendly service. Tasted a few and all were good if not great. Shipped some home to enjoy again.

Right off the Main Street in Carlton, this shop makes their own jams, sweet and savory, in over 100 flavors! We bought blueberry lime, smoked apple (great on oatmeal), mixed berry balsamic, Meyer lemon chocolate and marionberry espresso!! We couldn't stop! You can taste all the flavors and some are seasonal. A nice change of pace from wine tasting!

Once you try this gourmet jam you will never look at a jar of Welch's again! This is my favourite stop for gifts that are truly Oregon representative. There are so many creative flavours and the jars are adorable. Always the perfect gift for friends, family and Myself !

I've been here a few times, and I love seeing whats new and what kind of interesting combinations they come up with. Just had some family visiting from out of town and took them to this place, it was a big hit.

I've purchased jam from the Republic a few times now and I for sure will be going back!! The various jam combinations are delectable - just yummy. :-) Flavors that I would have never thought to put together ... and I've enjoyed every one that I've tried so far. (Even the syrups can be used in mixed drinks - yum!!) I've taken my visitors to the tasting room to share a little bit of Carlton, and everyone leaves happy. I can officially say I'm hooked on "the Republic"!!!!

Excellent change of pace from tasting wine. A wide variety of tasty jams, syrups and other yummy treats. Super friendly people, this is a must stop when visiting Carlton.

I had to quit wine-tasting for awhile or face a DWI. This jam shop gave me a welcome break. All jams sold are available for tasting. My wife liked the raspberry anise. We bought several jars which we brought home - not as gifts but to enjoy ourselves. Some things are too tasty to give away.

After sampling so much wine in Willamette Valley, it was a refreshing change of pace to sample jams. This quaint shop in downtown Carlton, OR, was so friendly and accommodating. They gladly let us sample many varieties of jam. They had unique flavors like: chocolate cherry, lemon mulberry, marionberry, spicy peach, basil strawberry, and balsamic blueberry. Of course they offered any regular fruit flavor that you can imagine, along with pickled vegetables and seasoned lemons. It was a great stop! And I was able to get some Christmas shopping completed, too!

Great place with amazing jams and you're able to taste- my favorite is Pickled Blueberries!! Delicious! Great to stop, then lunch at Horseradish next door for yummy food

Best jams and unique jams at that! If you are dreaming of a mixture, they have it or can make it! There are always free samples of anything your heart desires and I highly recommend stopping in for a look. They also have wonderful pickled lemons that are INCREDIBLE to mix in any pasta dish or with any meat...you think its crazy, but it is incredible. The staff are enjoyable and very welcoming!

I found this on TripAdvisor during a day of wine tasting when my tastebuds needed a break. I was like, "jam?" but everyone said such good things, I knew I had to visit. I'm so glad I did! This little shop is so fun. I tried every single flavor available at the time of my visit. They were all unique and delicious, with unexpected flavor combinations, and a lower sugar content than commercial jams. I bought several jars to bring home and they're almost all gone in less than a month. Normally, I don't think twice about jam, but this store is something special.
