osage tribal museum, library and archives

View photographs of original allottees and paintings by Osage artists. Artifacts are on exhibit as well as bronze busts of former chiefs of the Osage Tribe. A must see on anyones list.

I decided to go to Pawhuska to check out the Osaage Tribal Museum. I ended up being the only there - at least in the Morning. I talked with 2 of the workers there... I believe One of them was named Doreen. Both gave me a verbal account of the Osage Indian struggle. After I left, I wished I had turned on my iphone recorder. The account that they provided is something that should be preserved. Once you enter the museum, you can certainly tell the place is maintained with a great sense of of Pride, Respect and Love. If you get the chance, check the place out!
