This was a very impressive facility, especially for the price. They had large displays with specimens high and low, gorgeous hand painted backdrops behind the different exhibits, quite a bit about dinosaurs and Oklahoma cultures. Definitely a good family stop, we had a two for one coupon which made it better, expect to spend 1 to 3 hours there.
This place is somewhere I have brought my children to multiple times. The exhibits are of a very high quality and very informative. I really like that this place is interesting for all ages. It's an all around great museum for anyone to visit.
Excellent & informative exhibit on Native American history in Oklahoma. Also enjoyed the exhibit on Oklahoma geography.
My kids love this place. So much history, and cool things to see. I was born and raised here in Norman, Oklahoma and I never get tired of visiting the Sam Noble Museum.
Great place to visit for all ages. History of Oklahoma is fascinating and very well depicted in the exhibits. Good gift shop as well. Highly recommend.
There are several things to do in the Norman area, one place that shouldn't be missed is the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. I believe you should know as much as possible about the history of the world, but in addition we have a lot of history right here in Oklahoma, this area is rich in fossils from many different eras, and this museum does a beautiful job of showing them off, everybody loves dinosaurs! There are lots of things to see, not just dinosaurs, but a lot of the history of our native population, in addition they have rotating displays that change and offer a variety of things to see and do.
Great for a kids afternoon out (whether you're a real kid or a grownup kid.) I left Norman before I got a chance to see the back of house at this museum, but the front of house displays are well thought out and informative. The good local area information is interesting and there are lots of things to see as you take a little walk through natural history. Recommended!
Great museum for all ages. New exhibits rotate in and out throughout the year. If you are in Norman , take time to visit this treasure.
If you are in Oklahoma, let alone Norman, this is a must see. On par with national museums. Located in the central part of the state just South of OKC, it's easy to get to.Educational and informative. Changing exibits keep it interesting and updated. Great for kids, teenagers and adults.
Great venue. Fun for kids and grownups. Friendly people. Always lots of help available. A bit pricey. Unless you can arrange to go on a free day. Tours are done and audio is avilable
Also really nicely displayed. You walk through a recreation of each epoch. Very educational, but still colorful. No child (at heart) can fail to be captivated by the stories and displays!
Beautiful building houses a diverse and impressive collection ranging from massive dinosaurs to local fauna. They have a great permanent collection as well as rotating "guest" collections.
We always take visitors here. Wonderful exhibits. Would recommend to anyone interested in natural history
We needed a break and took a spur of the moment road trip to Norman and OKC and we loved this museum! There was something to keep the entire family engaged (ages with us ranged between 4 and 60) interested! Overall it was a wonderful learning experience and so much fun!
We went to this museum on the first Monday of the month as it's free to the public then. We are a home schooling family so it was nice to go when other kids were in school as it was not busy at all. The museum is very clean, open and has some nice exhibits. After looking at the web site we thought it was much bigger than it is. It actually has two floors that are open to the public and all of the other floors and departments listed on the web site are for curators, scientists and the like who work at the museum. That was part of why we thought there were more floors. The best part of our experience was the lovely volunteer who saw us on the top floor and began telling us more about various animals and exhibits in the museum. She told us things that were written on the placards and that made some of the animals come alive for us. She also told us more about the installation of the latest permanent exhibit which was very fascinating. Despite the fact that the museum was smaller than we thought it was still plenty big enough for us to not have seen the entire museum in the two hours we were there. We are looking forward to going back to see the other exhibits and hope we get to speak with the museum volunteer who clearly enjoys what she does which is help the museum come alive.
