I have been camping in the USA for 14 weeks now and arrived at this nice campground and to find the washrooms facilities lacking in many regards. Upon going up to the modern building, discovered that the men's and women's washrooms were closed. A sign said use facilities on the east side of the building. That would be the one and only handicap washroom. Yup, one toilet for men and women in the campground. Then, when I went to have a shower, discovered that 3 of the 4 shower stalls were locked up. Yup, one shower plus the one in the handicapped washroom that has the only toilet. Now, the rooms specifically for showers is something else. The only bench in there gets soaking wet. That can not be helped due to the design. The entire floor gets soaking wet due to design. So now for the first time in 14 weeks I must pay to have a shower and all I get is cold water. Not luke warm, but cold. Haven't had one of those in 14 weeks either. Oh, did I mention the shower stall was full of spiders! Haven't seen one that bad in 14 weeks either. I would have cleaned it up myself but that would cost me money. So I shower as quick as I can while trying to control my breathing. Get wet pants when putting them back on from the floor. Can't sit on the bench because it is soaked. Exit shower stall and sit on the concrete outside to dry my feet in order to get my socks and shoes on. Not impressed. Otherwise, this looks like a nice campground. The rangers when I checked in were extremely nice and helpful. I'm not sure if they are aware of this situation but they will be informed when I check out in the morning.
We stopped here for a night while traveling 40. Easy access to highway . Very nice clean and level sites along lake. Gem of a find'
If you're visiting Foss State Park in Oklahoma, be sure to watch the bison feeding at the visitor center/park office, around 10 a.m. It's free and great fun.
