Had a great time here for the day - the friendly staff here are awesome - they really encourage the fun aspect of the adventure - along with making sure everyone follows the safety rules! Pay the extra for the long line at the end - it's worth it!Be prepared to climb up a lot of ladders though! It's not platform to platform - so be ready for that! Otherwise - I'd go again!
What I like about ziplining is the thrill and exhilaration. I was not expecting the ropes challenge course to be as challenging as it was. They "nicely" push you past your fears to walk backward on a swinging bridge that has sporadically spaced boards. For adrenaline junkies, they loved it. For me it was too much. I just wanted to zipline. Unlike some other courses, this one has you constantly going up ladders to reach platforms. The ladders are almost vertical with no lean, so I found it tiring after a while to clip in/out to the next while holding on tight with other hand since there wasn't a lean to most of the ladders. You are issues gloves which help you to brake - and you really get going on some of the zips, so my glove would get hot in trying to brake. Some of the platforms have the cables a bit low, so you really need to raise your legs when coming in braking. The guides were very good about educating, but it's a lot for a newbie to keep in mind. Would I recommend? Yes if you love a thrill, the adrenaline danger of ropes courses that are indeed "ropes challenge courses", and guides that are very good. If you just want to zipline, then perhaps another place that goes from platform to platform, or has stairs to use for climbing.
We stopped by after visiting the local caverns. You have to call ahead of time to reserve a time spot. Its about a 15 minute drive from the caverns. Family owned property. Has options for little ones (a play area and a low-flying zipline they can ride as many times as they want). There is a standard packed of about, can't remember exactly, but about 8-10 lines of varying nights, distances and speeds. For another $10, you can opt in for the extreme experience which is a longer, taller, faster line that flies over a pond. Bring bug spray as there can be some annoying mosquitoes. The full package takes about 3 hours. There are two guides with the groups at all time and are very experiences, helpful and entertaining. Your safety is their first priority and they do a great job at it. They were all very welcoming, courteous and friendly. They let my two-year old in for free, gave his his own little helmet and harness which he loved. Listen to their instructions carefully and do exactly what they tell you to do. There have been a few injuries in the past, mostly as a result of not following the instructions and warnings. Upper body strength is a plus. Shorter kids can have a challenging time but they will, nevertheless, enjoy it. My only critical feedback to the management would be about their labrador that strolls around the reception area. I personally didn't have a problem with it - even though I'm not a pet person (I believe animals should not be enslaved against their will for the sole purpose of entertaining humans... but that's just me). Some people are genuinely afraid of dogs or are irked by them. We had two people in our party that are not fond of dogs and as a result, had to either stay in the car or as far away from the dog as possible. The dog, himself, minded his own business and was very well domesticated. I would recommend having a way of separating him from the reception area. Just my $ 0.02. Overall, if you like adventure, but are not quite ready to hit the white waters or plunge down with a bungee cord, this is a good place to start with a very nice group of people there to make it a fun experience for you.
This is a really good starter course especially if you aren't sure how nervous you'll be or if you have kids that are timid about doing it. We had two kids (11 and 16) who were very nervous but the guides were super patient and had the kids zipping through the trees in no time.
My wife suggested doing this with the Grand kids while on vacation. Their ages are 7 and 9 and they only did the training line and the first stretch of the zip line. They got scared and quit. The Staff was very professional and safety was their goal. I will be trying this later in the season when the leaves change color it should be nice then
We had a great Zip line tour. Our guide ("Mac") was a very personable fellow and made everything better. The only downside was the photo package. The photos were not as sharp as the ones taken by my wife. The layout of the Ziplines was well thought out and a pretty ride.
