Wasn't open at the time I visited, but it was definitely still worth the stop. The lighthouse is beautiful on the outside and the views from the grounds are beautiful as well. Would be a nice place to picnic!
Love this Island. They call it a party Island on the weekends. Lots of people visit here for shopping, eating and drinking.lots of restaurants, and restaurants with bars. Golf carts can be rented. The Island is accessible by Ferry only or the Jet Express. Several places to shop and of course places to see like the lighthouse, and Put-in bay monument seen for miles on the Lake.Beautiful place to visit and stay. Rooms, hotels available.A must for anyone visiting the area.
It is worth going to see this lighthouse even if the buidling isn't open at the time. The view is amazing & it is very relaxing to sit & watch the water. The lighthouse isn't one of the prettiest buidlings but it is neat to see it. The grounds are clean & well kept with a couple of picnic tables so if you are interested in a picnic there is a place to sit & enjoy.
Great place to visit and has a great view of the lake! Make sure you go in the daytime to see all the history so you can look inside the house.
In a lovely setting, this building is architecturally interesting, but the inside is only open 2 afternoons a week, which was disappointing. But it's still a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the water.
The light house was not open during our visit. The building and grounds are a wonderful place to sightsee. We sat on a bench and viewed the lake which is a delight. This light house and grounds is a perfect place to just stroll around and take pictures.
The grounds for this lighthouse are lovely, and perfect for a photo shoot. Both the lighthouse and its outbuildings are nice, and the views of Lake Erie and islands are fabulous! The lighthouse has somewhat limited hours to tour, so be sure to check ahead of your visit so you're not disappointed.
Great view from the southwest corner of the island. While the grounds are clean and the outside is a neat take on the lighthouse, much of this attraction is the quiet view along this edge of the island. Within a few hundred yards of the main Miller Ferry port on the island, the lighthouse grounds are a great finish or a great start to touring the island upon arrival.Only drawback is the view includes the cooling tower and billowing vapors from the nuclear facility across on the mainland, but there are plenty of views angled around it there.
This place is serene and a great spot to snap a few photos. Didn't appear to be any attendant but that's okay we wandered around and enjoyed ourselves.
The plaque on the grounds gave a good amount of info, on the lighthouse, the main dislike here is there was NO tour of the inside of the lighthouse to see how the lighthouse keeper lived.
The light tower itself is open Mondays and Tuesdays and well worth the paltry fee. We wish the main part of the building (the lightkeeper's living quarters) were also open, but we were told that area is reserved for use by VIPs. Open it all up on a daily schedule so history buffs can enjoy the full experience.
we drove our golf cart to the lighthouse it was okay, it did not fascinate me I guess my interest for these type of things was not there, but to just travel this little island on your cart was a day worth of wonder and a little bit of an inside site of how the island came to be.
Walking up the 45 steps to the top of the lighthouse is worth the time. The view is beautiful and the student tour guide was very knowledgeable about the lighthouse history.
large grounds. small parking lot (but most people use golf carts, bikes, or walk) great picnic site. Historical site.
my wife and me went there for anniversary and my birthday. it's a very nice of you to see if a lot of Lake Erie island and its nice to just sit there and enjoy the day and you can take some nice pictures there .this is the only light house on put in bay.
