This experience was way beyond what i had envisioned or expected !! DON'T go by your first impression when you pull up to Muddy waters ! The people that work there are just down right Good People ! The Horses are all well Cared for and in Excellent shape ! The horseback ride is Down Right AWESOME ! The ride is for about 1 Hour through the woods ( on a trail ) through some Muddy Water , you go Down Hills and Up Hills , You get to Gallop every once in awhile ( which i found SOOOO much fun ) my horse (TACO) even made a Jump across some big puddle !!!! I didn't want the ride to end !!! But i will be back !!! Thanks to all the Good People and Horses ! Looking forward to my return Trip !!! God Bless !
We have done other riding facilities in the Greater Cincinnati area, but this beats them all. Don't let the initial appearance of the facilities fool you. The horses were in excellent shape, the staff could not have been better in both pre-ride instruction, handling of kids getting on horses and the post ride dismounting instructions. My two 13 year old granddaughters loved this place and agreed it was better than the others we had done. Family run on private property that is adjacent to a county park. As the name says "muddy waters" well you will get a lot of shade, some water [mud], a lot of change in elevation and excellent trails [just not a boring trip around a lake in the wide open].
This was by far the best trail ride I have ever been on.it was my 2 daughters first time they were 10 and 12 the horses they were given were perfect size for them. The guide was really cool and unlike any other trail ride I have been on the horses did gallop some times can't wait to go back
I give it a 5. I haven't been on a horse in many years and this is my 3rd time on a horse since 'pony rings' as a child. I went Saturday July 12 because I wanted to make my (tiny) 7 year-old niece happy. Ten minutes before I arrived at Muddy Waters I was still thinking that I should turn around and go to the Pony Ring at Parky's Farm. I am so happy that I didn't. Although my niece is very small, she wanted to do this ride (her 1st time on a big horse). Cowboy Solo checked her out in a sweet way, making sure she could follow instructions and that she could do the ride. She obviously 'passed' his test and so she got the training stirrups on 'Velvet' (not a pony!) and Cowgirl July, was in front with a kind of 'connecter lead' to make sure that Velvet kept to the trail and my little one was watched. She went down and up and through the woods, brush, streams, trotting at times, just as every adult in the group did. The ride lasted for over an hour and as an adult with no experience, I felt challenged and my challenge was 'complicated' because I wanted the best for her. She was safe, she had an adventure and a Fantastic Time! I know now that she will never be satisfied with 'pony rings' again!
This place is awesome, highly recommend it! The tour guides are so funny and make the visit even more fun! We went last year as a big extended family group and planning a trip for this year too! When my nieces and nephews came back in town this year this was the first place they asked to go back to even before Kings Island!!! I highly recommend this for all familys, the ride only last an hour but the memories we'll cherish a lifetime!!! Sooooo much fun!!!!
